Arcee is carrying a whole freaking hover car on her back!  

 

I'm less excited for Chromia after realizing she's essentially PRID Arcee. It's very clear to me that the figure is going to transform pretty much the same way and have the same flaws. I just looked at Chromia in the comic and the Arcee details are quite inaccurate which kills my excitement.

 

Hasbro finally did generations arcee and they made it G1 as hell and I thank them for it.  

Chromia is also pretty good. Might make a decentish Rung with a conversion kit too.

With three out of the four femmebots currently in the comics I hope they will consider giving Nautica a shot at toydom as well despite her having been designed without that intention.

 

She's a strong and independent woman!

You think so? Looks similar to MMC in how the back is done. She has a buttflap like mmc with the top half of the car independently on the upper body. Id say the biggest difference between the two is the size of the buttflap and the way mmc took her backpack and put a little more dimension on it.

 

In all fairness though there was most likely a 0% chance of Chromia getting an all new mold after Windblade and Arcee, and given Hasbro's reluctance towards fembots in general. It was either this or no Chromia. Well I guess they could have just slapped a new head on either Arcee and called it a day. But who the hell would want that? A Windblade remold is probably the only way we'll get a Nautica fig too.

Plus this opens the door to a possible Afterburner redeco down the road. I hear 3 of the Technobots are dead in IDW's continuity. If Afterburner's one of them then it wouldn't be a stretch for IDW to introduce a new fembot that's taken up his mantle.

 

Yeah I know, it's just that PRID Arcee is definitely one of my least favorite figures from the PRID line. I got one to customize...and I'm still going to, but it's just hard to get motivation to doll up a pretty crap figure I'm not excited at all about.

Admittedly? Me. I said it when we first heard we were getting an Arcee and Chromia months ago that I would absolutely despise it if either or were bikes instead of cars. Thankfully Arcee is a car...and a G1 version at that. I'm a Classics collector but I can settle for an '86 Carcee.

Chromia as a bike I settled for after hearing that she's a bike in Windblade, but I'm going to freely admit that if she was a repaint of "Carcee" with a new head, I would be TOTALLY down to have more than 1 G1 style car fembot.

That's pretty awesome but I'm not much of an IDW reader, so the vast majority of happenings in the comics goes unnoticed by me. Plus, I'm not keen on getting combiner team members that don't combine, so at least for me the redeco possibility goes lost on me.

 

They are quite fantastic!!!! Can't wait to have those!!! CANT WAIT!!!!

 

Arcee has always been a robot with a Hovercar on her back?

Except for the bike versions.

 

The butt-flap looks to be folded up in the last pic instead of open on the toy box. I'm thinking it's been miss tranformed.

Looks like I'm gonna hafta drill out Arcee's hands so she can hold 5mm round peg weapons. Might have to mod that back pack to become a shield or something too. I actually dig the Prime Arcee mold so the Chromia is cool with me as is. Bet they change the car on Gen. Arcee's back into a boat on Nautica's back to give us that figure.

 

I really hope they give us Elita 1 , moonracer, and firestar before they give us nautica.

 

I think if you drill out her hands, you'd just destroy them completely. You're better off trying to find new hands for her...

 

I'd rather we get all of them in a reasonable time frame so it doesn't matter so much which get released first. I'd like to think waiting years for 1-2 fembots is over.

 

Oh me too, my daughter likes the females tfs and if they wait 2-3 years she might lose interest

 

I'm surprised by the PRID Arcee mold hate, I thought it was one of the best figures made in a long time and am perfectly fine with a reuse/ remold for Chromia. I never once thought the mold couldn't be used for a Classics display (minus the head of course). Oh well, cant please everyone I guess. I am glad the two don't share a mold together and when I pick up MMC Elita I will have a nice femmbot display with unique molds.
