When I was doing my blog of G1, characters were being introduced so fast and frequently that it made my head spin. To this day I still can't remember a good chunk of them but I often find myself wishing some characters would have gotten a bigger role before getting the axe.

For me, my favorite was Tracks and I believe he got a good amount of screen time. But I also loved Beachcomber and Seaspray and wish they could have had a buddy cop mini series! (I'm only half serious...)

So, who did you find the most interesting and what do you think they could have done in an episode dedicated specifically to their contribution to the Autobots?​

(I was going to add a poll but looking at the huge list of G1 Autobots I'm scared to miss someone and get yelled at...)

 

Beachcomber! Reason why is that I loved watching the Golden Lagoon episode as a kid.
They could've made an episode with him seeing how the Autobot combiners accidentally harm nature.
Beachcomber would then learn them about nature and together they defeat the Decepticon combiners in a more peaceful way.

 

YES! I listed that episode as my number 2 out of my top 5. I loved it so much. Also that's a wonderful idea!

 

The Technobots: Scattershot, Strafe, Lightspeed, Afterburner, Nosecone. Would have liked to see more of them.
Swoop would have been cool too. Cliffjumper, Tracks, Red Alert, First Aid, Air Raid would also have been nice. And especially Punch/Counterpunch, Brainstorm, Chromedome, Highbrow, Hardhead, Crosshairs, Sureshot and Pointblank, or in other words i would have liked a longer season 4

And also Windercharger, Trailbreaker and Seaspray.

 

Skids. The answer gotta be Skids.

There's a guy that had to have something going on off-screen.

Swerve and Tailgate, they only in one scene, and not the rest of season 3. They should got a episode liked replaced one of the worst episodes, than we've got one where they found a weird object while fought Decepticons.

 

Skyfi-... I mean Jetfire. He's wicked!

 

The protectobots. Not as defender, but as just the team. The had the most potential as characters, yet the barely had any screentime

 

Does Devcon count? If so, definitely him. Skids for sure as well.

I wanna believe the comics and cartoon had THIS in common. I imagine Skids ran off with Charlene, considering in his minimal cartoon appearances, he was usually getting his ass handed to him.


I wish Tailgate got a focus episode, based on the character outlined in his tech-specs, who believed all machines were living beings and viewed the use mechanical devices as enslavement. Could've been a nifty goof episode akin to 'Hoist goes Hollywood'.

 

Beachcomber would probably be my first choice. The Golden Lagoon is one of my favorite episodes along with Webworld and a few others. He is a geologist and naturalist who genuinely cares about all living things and struggles with how to help both his Autobot allies while also protecting other life forms. he is a genuine pacifist, but he is also extremely skilled and courageous when the time comes.

Punch-Counterpunch, Cosmos, and Windcharger are also cool. Windcharger is a lot of fun when he does appear. Cosmos is weird and unique and has some hilarious quotes here and there. Punch-Counterpunch did not get enough time to show off how his Doublespy ability affected who he was as a character, but he was still cool when he did appear.

 

Skids for sure, I bought his G1 toy primarily because he was the closest I could find to an Autobot version of myself. And he had a crap load of guns. I won't consider my MP collection complete until I have an Official or 3P Skids in it.

 

Getaway, Guzzle, Siren and Nightbeat, they got exactly 0 seconds screen time

 

Devcon! He left Cybertron a long time ago. Where did he go? Why were the seekers so afraid of him. He wasn't in the comics and he never made another appearance in the toon. I really want a 3p Masterpiece figure of him
