Haven't posted a new piece of work in a while. But got inspired recently and purchased an air brush setup to learn on.

I was fortunate to get my hands on a one of a kind prototype clear Ocular Max Sphinx and kit bashed it with a regular Ocular Max Sphinx (Yes I took apart 2 htf figures... might make some cringe). Then masked and painted the seams to give the illusion of the mid stealth Mirage.

First time airbrushing for me, so I didn't do any gradient work. But used a lot of it for the clear parts that were masked and painted. Used just regular brush for the electrifying Energon wiping effect.

This piece was inspired by some older work by Frenzy_Rumble. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did painting it up :)

I'm afraid to look up the prices on these guys to see what you sacrificed for this, but the result is certainly beautiful! I'd assume you also have a full figure's worth of parts leftover, plan on doing the same again with those?

Thanks for the positive feedback. I do have parts to form a whole other one, and am seeing if I can perhaps swing a different color highlight. The tricky part is the decals on the chest will need to be reproduced, so looking into how to copy those and print my own decals.

I wouldn't bother with the decals on transparent parts tbh.

    This ^^

Just leave it clear on your second one. Though, i must admit that ghost like translucent decals on top of clear would look pretty dang cool.

Impressive enough that you got a hold of a (currently) absurdly rare prototype piece but THEN went ahead and ripped it apart. haha Nice work.

On a side note, this might be the first piece of news of a possible clear variant being released by MMC?
