These are awesome, can't wait.

Would love if mmc kept doing more obscure tapes after they get done the main ones.

 

Anyone else confused by the width of the tape laying down versus the lion head?

 

Is steeljaws mane really the circular hole portion of the tape? Can’t tell for sure but doesn’t seem to line up with the altmode pics. The width seems to imply maybe the two tape sides come together to make the mane but I can’t see the shape in the altmode pic.

 

yes   there's some fun transforming stuff going on to make that happen!

 

It's probably two halves of the tape that swing up and over a section that is a bit more than the width of the tape.

 

If you zoom in quite a bit you can see the seam line in the middle of the mane.

 

I'd really like it if the legs were a darker shade of grey rather than silver on Steeljaw. Love the look of all 4 though and can't wait to see physical shots!

 

They are Shiny Diecast like the original G1 cassette.

Oh yes... I forgot... People want colors from the most inconsistently colored, animated and scaled cartoon of all time.  



I'll take MY Steeljaw nice and shiny. But you go ahead and enjoy your dull boring colored Steeljaw there bud.  

I'll enjoy the Vibrant and Shiny.

 

Wish it had anatomically correct hind legs. They look funny with the knees bent the wrong way/not having knees.

Plus he doesn't have fat stumpy legs either.

So... that's kinda 2 strikes against it now.  






Still... I think it looks nice.  

 

There there fella, people forget things all the time, don't be hard on yourself. I mean all I said was darker grey legs please... but if that didn't hit your eject button enough... get this: I like the yellow, but I'd like it if that were the same matt style plastic they used for Jaguar and the Frumble brothers. It's just more suited to my tastes and takes away any chance of paint chipping on transformation, plus might save them some extra expense that they could shave off the final price (no paint, less costings: less costings, lower retail). If it were to be painted with a glossy / shinny layer there'd be a high chance of chipping, which I don't like.

Anyway... this is MY G1 reissue Steeljaw with distinctly darker forelegs so lets not start throwing the inconsistency label around there pal  



also.... pst... (in whisper) the guns should be yellow too....



 

 

MMC are gonna do whatever they want with him just be prepared guys.

 

And then they will repaint it.
