I love this alt mode because -- robots in disguise. I love Transformers with pedestrian or lame alt modes. It makes a lot more sense than them always having muscle car alt modes.

I get what you’re saying, but honestly it would depend more on where in the country/world you are. Where I live, this would ironically be out of place, whereas a muscle car would be pedestrian in comparison

Seriously though. I’ve counted at least 30 Mustangs in my home town I’d say, at least 1/3rd of which seem to be Eco-Boosts

The most pedestrian cars I see where I live are modern(ish) mid-size coupes, Teslas, and old beaters.

Not sure where you are but I can say that a Trueno would absolutely be out of place in the US but it would look so much like every other hatchback from the 80s (or at least the sportier ones) that most people wouldn't realize just how out of place it was.

For me 70’s/80’s and 2005 onward are the car era’s I like. The late 90’s and early 2000’s have such ugly cars I can’t stand to look at them. It’s when creativity in car design died.

Granted, I am using my knowledge of cars and not the average person, but most “normal” cars around me are a bit newer than an AE86, so for me at least it’d be more notable, when the majority vehicles around here are either trucks/SUVs, or muscle cars like Mustangs Camaros and Corvettes.

And to answer your question about where I am, I live in (somewhat) rural Middle Tennessee, about an hour and a half away from Nashville, so it’s probably different in like the Midwest or something. Plus back where I used to live a few years back was a neighborhood away from “the money” so there were plenty of sports cars (and even Lamborghinis and such) to go around, so I’m more used to seeing coupes over sedans and econo-boxes

We all like what we like, but I love the Masda RX-7, 1993 ~ 1998 Toyota Supra, R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R.

The R34 being my favorite car ever also. Super gorgeous.

There were some good ones in the 90s and early naughties. I'm particularly fond of the WRX, the 3000GT, and the GT-R from back then. I also really liked the early Vipers from the late 90s before they flattened out all of the curves.

Also completely off topic but I would love love LOVE if somebody did a Transformer out of a Shelby Cobra - that thing is, to me, the most beautiful car ever made.

The only car that rivals the cobra in looks I’d argue is its sibling, the Daytona

I fell in love with the GT-R playing Gran Turismo back in the day. Beautiful car.

Also a beaut' though I would also include the GT40 as another contender. That thing was just sexy and I also really enjoyed the GT from the 2000s (dunno if they're still doing them) that was based on it. The one that Alternators Mirage and Hot Rod turned into. That hood shape just really does it for me.

Nah sadly they stopped doing road legal ones about 2 years ago. They did a limited production of pure race/track models for a bit after, but I think they stopped those as well

I don't really do brand loyalty but I would probably choose Chevy over Ford most of the time. Really, though, I prefer cheaper economic cars so I drive a Hyundai.

I'm literally watching Initial D right now and the guy in the RX-7 (FD) is racing the R34 (near the end of 4th Stage). And yes, it's gorgeous :D

As long as it’s not a Hyundai that’s susceptible to being stolen with a screwdriver and usb plug, they are not bad cars at all. Hard to even call them “cheap” due to how quality they are nowadays.
