It was pretty spooky for me as well... at first I eventually realized I hadn't actually fully extended the torso (there was like 1/4" or less left to push) but it still felt uncomfortably tight once I rectified that and double-checked all the other alignments. MMC's MPs have almost universally been the best for me visually of the various character wars but wow do I not enjoy the transformation process. So many tight clearances and scarily stiff bits.

 

I watched the official, that one, and bsf. None of them appear to have the problem I have.

 

Just received my hellion recently. Compared him to toro (which I also own) , I like hellion better because the lack of backpack. But toro feels less flimsy and the transformation is much smoother. Another thing that bothers me is that his neck is too long. Does anyone know which part of the neck assembly might I shave off to make his head sitting lower?

Also, the little flipping cover part that's on his backpack, behind his head, tend to pop off easily. looks like there aren't any pins in the rotating points, the cover is only held in place by tension. Anyone else have this issue?

 

Sold my Ace for a bargain cause although it was great, the arms just sucked and those feet were just bad. This baby here was the way to go although I do wish it had a real world car. Bad ass how his arms make the seats and floorboard of the car! Noticed a couple of stress marks on the small arm bits and a light scuff across the back window. Not worth fussing over as far as I’m concerned but I’ll be sure to watch those arm bits for further stress

 

But I don't think his face is bad at all. The sculpt is decent, it was just caked in too much paint.

He looks like sheeeeyit from the side though.

So I finally got around to getting this guy, and I like him for sure, but uhhh, his neck makes him look goofy. Can you sand down the tab the head fits over to make it sit lower on the neck or....? Thoughts anyone?

Nah, mine was way off the neck, like waaaaaaay off. I sanded it down, looks much better.

 

Still hoping for a Hubcap out of it.

 

I wonder if it would be possible to design and 3D print a piece to fill out his back. But on the other hand, someone else might attempt CJ, so is it really worth the effort? I have zero interest in Toro btw.

 

I kind of think the waist was designed to sit like in the pics below. Not only does it make the proportions right, but it also perfectly centralises the crotch and shave the hight just slight enough so the arms are now fully proportionate.

 

Just got this guy in and have been messing with his alt mode. Out of the box, he wasn't tabbed in all that great. There're small gaps between his doors and where his windshield meets his hood. Will watch some vids to see what I might be doing wrong. Otherwise cool looking alt mode.

 

Drove over and picked this dude up from ToyDojo today.

Was exactly as I was expecting. Transforming him, I definitely felt like I needed to be extra careful cause there's some tiny parts there.

His neck is a bit awkward but when you're looking at him more at his level it looks fine.






So one question I have looking at him is why Hide Shadow cost me $95 and this tiny dude cost $73?!

 

Well, I think you overpay for your Hide Shadow, it could be around 70 as well.  

 

Well, even then, why would they be the same price?

 

I agree Hellion is way overpriced for what he is

 

MMC stuff is generally overpriced as a whole, shame that I tend to prefer their aesthetic choices.
