Would love to see this happen. MMC are one of those 3P companies that researches and respects the history of a character when they make their version. Gull wing doors, LED light up flux capacitor, fold down wheels from 2nd movie + antenna hook that plugs into rear like at end of 1st movie please?

There's always Vector Prime, not sure he'd work as a car though.

While the two cars have generally the same shape, all the surfaces and panels are different. Those would all have to be new molded pieces. So unless there's a good reason to share the internal engineering, there might not be any cost savings versus an original mold. Also, the biggest thing is that the DeLorean is famous for its gullwing doors. Stray clearly has normally opening doors, given the fingernail notch, and it's hard to imagine that MMC would put those on a DeLorean. If they remolded to have gullwing doors, then presumably the top of the car would have to become the back of the robot, instead of the front on Stray. All these things together makes me think it'd be an original mold, if they do this at all.

I want the "deluxe" version that comes with a piece of train track to display it on (and train wheels).

You know, Que but he turns into the Delorean would be interesting. Could have an alternative WJ head as well.

Nice model of the regular car went up for order this month being done by a company called Aoshima.

Pretty sure it uses standard 8400C silver the same I've had put on many an mmc toy so its cool to get a sense of what to expect of mmcs minus whatever seams n folded robot bits end up impacting its look.

Hmmmn. I'm not a DeLorean expert, but I do have some interest in it---the grey parts of the fascias (just above the black bumpers, front and rear) are always hard to get right, and the Aoshima model doesn't look right to me----those parts almost look "cool-blue silver" to me, and they should be more of a warmer metallic grey, with a notable contrast to the body.

(those parts are often repainted due to necesssity, almost no modern pic is of factory paint)

Binaltech/Alternators was brought up when discussing Shockwave, and that line had many characters who aren't cars become cars so no reason the same couldn't happen with Vector Prime, even more so when said car is already known as a time machine.

What do you think about giving up the shuttle mode and just having the train include the hover mode?

I hadn't thought about Wheeljack, but having fill in as a Doc Brown roll would be great.

Fine enough for me, no need to overcomplicate it. Train is still in the name so I think it works.
I feel like they will make a new character but yeah Wheeljack would be just a perfect option and make a lot of sense in almost every way.

If there is an April food see how much interest there is, maybe not see actual product released for another 2 - 3 years... Or more, MMC super duper slow now. You wanna PO now?

As I understand it, the Delorean's finish was brushed stainless steel, with only a protective clear-coat on top. No paint.

The main body, doors and hood (I believe) are stainless steel. But the front and rear sections are not (the silver areas around the tail lights and headlights.)

Do we know yet if this is truly real or just a 4/1 gag? I would love a MP-scale transformer of the Delorean. And anything MMC makes is automatically of interest.

Yeah, I’m probably in the minority camp with those who prefer fully-painted DMC-12s. I generally dislike silver as a color on cars anyway, but the Delorean’s mismatch of paint to the color of the steel sheet metal makes it look even more unfinished. Maybe it was never their intention to match it, but rather to only compliment it, but I think it looks bad.

I personally wouldn’t want a pristine, preserved example of this car. One of my neighbors had one when I was growing up, and all I could think was how much better it would look in color. And with better wheels. And normal doors. And how much better it would drive with an engine that actually met its performance pretensions. That Renault V6 is an absolute dog. I could outrun our neighbor’s Delorian in my mother’s AMC station wagon.

However, drop a V8 and a 6-speed manual in there, paint it a deep metallic green, and my ears would perk up.
