I just finished it - pretty good but the ending was so abrupt I feel that the series needed about 25% more budget to show things rather than refer to them. They completely skated over what happened to the father, the returned souls etc.
So what's the general consensus on this? I started to give it a try but I'm having trouble getting through the second episode. First episode was alright, nothing really spectacular but a lot of potential with the set up. Trying to get through episode 2 and I'm bored to fucking death. Does this get better or is this what I can expect from this show?
I didn't make it much further. It's just too "look how edgy we are, LOOK AT IT!" If the actors were better, they may have been able to save the awful writing, but it falls short on that front as well.
Yeah, I managed to make it to the end of episode 2 and I do think there's an interesting story here. I'm just not sure it's worth going further in for the reasons you listed. Plus I find the faimly social drama generally boring here. A friend of mine tried to tell me this was like Supernatural but I don't see it and at least they handled the family drama well. The most interesting thing so far is the chick with red eyes who froze time.
Exactly! My wife and I were hoping for more of a Supernatual style drama (as hokey as that show can be sometimes), but it's just not there. I had heard basically the same thing you had, with regards to the story. I'm all for a monster hunter storyline, but all of the fluff around the central story is just a bit much for my liking. I'm glad I'm not the only one!
