Ditto! At least it will keep the mouths of the; "the line has become too cartoony!?" crowd shut...until the next one which most of them will buy anyway comes out!?
Officially licensed? That's interesting, isn't it?? Or is it not at all, totally normal? Is it a 'our bad maybe we went to far with toon plainness, here's some official stickers' or do I have the wrong end of the stick? Usually it's unlicensed Reprolabels, right, that come along after release to spruce up an MP? Or do we always get licensed Ocean labels too - I don't really follow the add-on sticker for MPs. I do hate most of them, as I usually do the G1 toy looking Reprolabels, but some of them are cool like the Fuso logos.
Not neccessarily MP or even Oceandesigns, but it's not unheard of for Hasbro Asia to release sticker sets that give toys better G1 toy-accuracy. The Stunticons, Aerialbots, Optimus Maximus and Devastator all got them, for example.
Uh, how's that? Crappy stickers are somehow an acceptable replacement for a decent deco? Anyway, I kinda like the small fuso decals, those could actually work for me.
Despite the Hasbro name on the sheet, I doubt these labels are really licenced. The fact that they previously produced a decal sheet for MP Exhaust with the "Marlboro" logo when TakaraTomy didn't dare to and Hasbro Asia cancelled their release altogether would strongly suggest they are unlicenced and just using the Hasbro name without permission. These decals are also not readily available through the usual mainstream retailers. I recall having to go through Taobao to get a copy of Exhaust's decals. That said, the decal quality is pretty good.
Funny thing is, many of the 'cartoon accuracy sucks crowd' were singing Grapple's praises because he has molded details on his legs, but...the details themselves are there to ensure cartoon accuracy.... As for these stickers...no. Especially that awful search and rescue thing across the windshield.
These are probably dry transfers decals and not stickers. If I'm not mistaken all the Ocean Masterpiece stickers have been dry transfers.
I forgive the lack of it on this guy. In my mind he's a big bruiser with fire armor, no point in having greebly tech details all over your heat shields.
i don't need super greenly tech details, but most of the recent Masterpiece have gone way too far in the direction of low-detail animation model accuracy, to the detriment of the line IMO. Seems there oughta be a middle ground there...
