I've got a new project in the works, and a slight issue to go with it. While this figure is relatively simple, it has several parts cast in that "unpaintable" nylon plastic. I've had mixed results in the past with this kind of plastic, where on some it would stick fine, but on others it would either not take, or the paint would come off as one big sheet after it had dried. Anyone have any tips on how to get the best possible paint job on this stuff?

I've actually painted it with a thin coat of super glue, sanded it with a real fine sandpaper, then painted it. The paint adheres to the glue and not the plastic.

As long as the piece doesn't flex you should be fine.

I have used the superglue method before and it can work sometimes. I have also had some luck with spraying the nylon plastic bits with a clearcoat spray paint first. Then the paint adheres to the clearcoat.
