I agree that this block with a hole is the biggest weakness. I wish it had a cap similar to the undercarriage of the F16, that would split in two and slide out of the way somewhere. That or something like have the chest structure fold flat and the arms slide over it to be more of a block.
How are you all preordering these? The links I saw just took me to the vendor, but I couldnt find the actual product.
Looks like it! My hope is for a Welcoming Committee 3-pack of Sunstorm, Hotlink and Bitstream in the tetrajet mold. Then beyond the normal trio and coneheads in the Earthmode mold, I'm hoping for a Sandstorm, Blackdeath and Nacelle as redecos with the alternate wings of the coneheads but not the cone on the head. While the Earth Rises line looks to be great, I was really hoping the cybertronian theme would go on for all three years. I wanted to see the whole season 1+2 crew minus combiners in this format. Maybe the next trilogy can revisit if this size format and the COMBAT play pattern holds firm.
I scoured the net looking for the best angles I could find, there are some from Unicron.com Allspark and BWTF. anywho my thoughs: Wheeljack couldn't be better and his car mode is somehow super sleek, while his bot mode is blocky. Preordered. anyone remember Devastation?, I bet Warden does! Starscream, I'm actually considering getting Siege Skywarp now, but thats because Im excited about this Starscream, he's got a sleek jet mode that actually has me nostalgic for classics Starscreem, but thats good because this is a scaled up Classics Starscream. Awesome. Also yeah he does have a little bit of the underside cavity, but he blows Siege Seekers out of the water when it comes to his undercarriage. Optimus I notced his theighs are thicker than the Siege version makes him more imposing, I believe Warden says the hands and trailer bot will be blue in the final product, someone please confirm. [Wrong gray hands are a thing] that transparent side window is full of win! Cliffjumper, yeah I think this is great, I bet Bumble Bee will have smaller feet due too his rounded bumper. I feel like ive seen this scene in the cartoon, am I alone?
Holy shit, finally, an absolute badass leader class optimus. Honestly never thought I would ever see one. Bravo, Hasbro, bravo. Some slight nitpicks like the grey hands, but a definite buy at some point.
Unfortunately what we see is what we get. Warden confirmed due to a mold change the hands are the same color as the trailer.
To everyone complaining about Prime's hands: Yes, the grey looks bad but is it really that hard to paint them blue if you don't like them? And to everyone saying Hasbro said that they had to be grey because of molding whatever: Would it really be THAT difficult for Hasbro to paint them blue before packing and shipping??
Optimus' truck mode looks a bit - "off"- to me for some reason... Anyone bothered by his yellow eyes, maybe the head can be swapped with his Siege version maybe.
That part is likely not easily painted plus its jointed, somebody really really fumbled hard, because that's permanent. Meaning future iterations will have trailer colored hands. Hrmmmmm, G2 Prime....
Absolutely. And since the sculpts are so accurate now, they can be pretty definitive. And to prevent market flooding with too many combiners, releasing components mixed into waves on their own anthology-style would work. An Aerialbot in Wave3, a Combaticon in Wave4, etc etc etc.
Quite a lot of kibble on zarak. Wish they could left it on the body, it doesnt really add anything zarak himself...
