Good grief, these aren’t even out yet and folks are already calling for third party. I’m not even sure how you can improve upon perfection.

In fact, this entire line will be a nightmare to find.

Especially, Shockwave, Brunt, Cog, and hell All of them really.  

So much Scalper fodder in this line.

Actually, I hope Weijiang does OS KOs of these like they did of the TR Headmasters. Those are voyagers, upscaled from the original deluxes, with diecast parts and slight improvements on some parts and engineering... plus they are only $20.

 

I just need a release date so I can cancel buying everything else.

 

I don't know why some people say this line's devoid of a play feature; isn't the whole thing about armouring and weaponing up? The only difference this time is it isn't built directly into the figures, but it also means it's not intrusive.

 

Am I the only one bothered that megatron doesnt have his iconic gun barrel cannon on his back?

Either way even with the crappy battle damage, he looks way better without a 3rd jet mode. Let the gun fan modes begin...

Misread op's statement on Shockwave.

I get that not everyone is going to be happy with everything about this line, even I am rather disappointed with Sky-fly-tread-wheels, but I'm having a hard time looking at this Shockwave as being a "huge disappointment".






And even if you're not into the, imo, rather boss looking ship mode...

I am slowly building a Scavenger team. I guess I need to hunt down Crankcase, already have Misfire and Krok, and now I need that Flywheels! (Who I shall keep far, far away from any DJD members XD)

 

He hasn't had that for a very very long time (except for the MP). shame you just barely noticed it though.

Unfortunate that Shockwave turned out that way. I was really hoping we'd finally have a decent Classics version of him and Soundwave.

Edit: Wait, four posts up shows him without the ridiculous armor. That's better but still needing it for alternate mode is still disappointing.

Before I really get into things, I have to say

While there will still be some schmutz in the released figure, it’s worth keeping in mind that this diorama, like the previous Autobot one, features more paint than the actual releases will have... I think. I may be wrong, but at least I’m not alone...

Anyhoo, so far, the following are my~

⫸Siege Sorties:

⩺ Yep:

➣ 3x Lionizer
➣ 3 or 2x Whisper and Stormcloud (Air Strike Patrol)
➣ 1 or 2x Ravage and Laserbeak
➣ 1 Battle Patrol, since shotgun mode looks a bit derp

⩺ Maybe:

➣ Soundwave, the start of a chug collection instead of just augmenting my 3P Legends, though I really wish he had Red eyes and the forearms weren’t so hollo.

➣ Brunt, likely an incitement to get TR Trypticon, someday... and on sale.

➣ Shockwave, The bridge of his battlecruiser mode and the sculpting around his eye is winning me over, though I should probably get Iron Factory’s Bridge Watcher before this releases sometime probably late next year. I’m also curious to see what New Age is cooking for their teeny Shockers.


I also like Megatron but his face is a little long for my taste, so that likely won’t happen. And, I prefer a maniacal smile to pouting, duck face Megs.

Still, for those scoffing at Shockwave’s vehicle mode—

A) Ya knew something like this would happen with laws around the reproduction of toy guns.

B) It’s the best of all possible worlds because you could fit that in the hands of an MP and maybe a normal sized combiner’s hands, and, more importantly, Shockers looks like a Terran Battlecruiser from Starcraft, or some such space opera show, or movie, or comic, or anime, or board game or so on!

See, everyone can be happy!

That actually bothered me about my DX9 Sonic Wizard, hence why I often put his gun in his left hand.

I would prefer it be a single pinned finger, but I’ll probably have a second Ravage for a shield for Soundwave, besides putting his gun in his left hand ‘cause...

I noticed that during the TFU.info live stream and I am hype as all get out!

That plus Ravage as a shield already tells me how I’d gear Soundwave, should I get him.

Now a Dreamwave Fallen redesign of Megs would be excellent! A G2 Megs could also be cool... if he’s cackling!  

And, I really would’ve liked a closeup on Whisper and Stormcloud, but I could clearly see they have knees, and seemed pretty poseable.

I think they might be a smidge smaller than Iron Factory’s femformers, which would be perfect for me.

I didn’t see Solo, but I see what you mean after some googling. Though, as you mentioned that, I think it also looks like Luke’s landspeeder in A New Hope.

Still, I like Soundwave as a space frigate, and there’s easy access to lamp post mode for those who want it, and ‘Wavey probably can be fiddled into a space data storage server for the tap bots, since tapes aren’t just for listening—they can be for reading, & writing, data, too!

Moreover, Ravage and Laserbeak will be sold in a bundle separate from Soundwave.

It’s a huge longshot, but a Glit and Buzzsaw two back would be amazing. *o*

I like the option of adding extra guns on the shoulders like PMOP or Magnus, and Starscream also has ports on his elbows at least, so his nullrays can be posititioned parallel to his forearms.

 

You kidding? Shockwave looks fantastic! We've yet to see his unarmored alt-mode, but if it's anything like Ultra Magnus we're in for a good time!
