My comments were regarding Western retailers.

 

Fanstoys pretty much lives off of FOMO and false scarcity.

 

Guys do realize this started way back with FT Goose's Preorders on BBTS. I recall asking in the FT Aerialbots bots thread back then what's special about this edition and no one got back to me lol.

 

I completely missed it. I was too busy to be on here and I never go to BBTS or TFSource outside of Black Friday so I never even knew it was a thing.

 

On top of making some really nice display pieces that built their reputation to the point that they sell out production runs and require reissues, yeah, just FOMO and false scarcity.

 

Yea it's all good man. I seriously dunno who's to blame for the whole "Limited Edition" dilemma. Anyhow here's a screenshot of my Post back in September '19 when I noticed Goose said "Limited Edition".

 

Well yeah generally it only works if the product is good. Good products or not, still sketchy tactics

 

No, it's prudent business. Make runs you know you can 100% sell out.

Also we know it's they can slot into the factory's busy schedule.

 

Keep pushing that false scarcity, I'm sure it will catch on some day

Aren’t both aerialbots, including the “limited edition” goose, still available and in stock?

 

The theory I've seen that makes the most sense is that someone said that all the FT listings since Quietus T (which also wasn't actually limited, but could have at least been reasonably guessed to have been even if that turned out to be wrong) had the "Limited Edition" tag in the title, which could mean they were simply copying the listing format and editing the relevant info and failed to remove the "Limited Edition" part. Edit: The basic theory was by f0cus in the Superion thread.

 

FWIW, TFSource sent their promo email for these figures again, without the "Limited Edition" verbiage. It also appears that they replaced the "Limited Edition" pages.

Nice @ROXXOR thanks for clearing this up, FansToys never seems to meet the demand on anything they make this false Limited Edition tag doesn’t help things. If this was the practice moving forward it would only be more confusing when something is truly a Limited or Special edition.
