Kotaku is reporting an interview with Activision producer Jason Ades, in which he says there's just not enough demand for a G1 game out there.

Damn that sucks cause i also heard rumors that they were working on one too...i know they are working on another TF game not based on the movie so i guess we shall see what happens

 

I guess their "High Moon" studio is working on a Transformers game, but as far as I know, there hasn't been any other info released about their game yet...

Bummer, although I'm not too surprised. If they did a game involving/borrowing from multiple series, there would be something for everyone. That would be one huge game, however, so that's unlikely. We're getting Movie games for the time being, ah well. At least there's Easter eggs in them and all those other goodies.

 

Who cares about G1 when the Movieverse is all the hype?

 

I'd much rather they just have a Transformers Universe game that was kind of an All-Stars of cast. Story wise just throw in time travel/dimension hopping and job done

 

The comments by the people on that website make my head hurt.

Also, that how all minds of the people woho are in charge of Transformers merchandise are like.

 

How do they know if there's a demand for something that isn't made? Kinda reminds me of the problems Douglas Adams had getting a Hitchhikers movie made: producers kept telling him there was no demand for a comedy sci-fi movie, 'cos if there was, someone would have done it already. Then someone makes Men In Black and it's a massive hit. No one wants to take a chance when they could be churning out another FPS with a grizzled space marine.

O M G if the sprites were done in IDW style with Capcom influences, that would be FANFREAKINGTASTIC!!  

 

I don't care what generation of Transformers you put in a game, the most important thing is that it needs to be a good game.

I still have nightmares about Transformers Tatakai.

 

So...If there's already another transformers game being made after the revenge of the fallen one, and its not to do with G1, The Movieverse or Most likely Animated(since it has a game and the shows been canceled) which series is this game going to be set in? Or will it be a new story line with create your own characters...

 

Man are you SORE from Animated being canned. What's it been, a couple months and STILL?


As for this, I'm not all that surprised. 'sides, TF games haven't really ever been that grand. The Armada one was pretty good, but there's just so much other shovelware the casual crowd would rather buy, and decent original IP's the hardcore players would rather drop $60 on.
