this is prolly just me, cuz im seeing a lot of love for lug's brute power, but im not digging him and i think its because of his name. i just dont think lugnut is a suitable name; sure hes dumb, but lugnut just doesnt suggest the size and power that he has. in fact, i think itd have been cooler if he was thundercracker or thunderwing or something, i dunno, the thunder part just feels appropriate, especially after his quake punch schtick. waddaya think?
I'm pretty indifferent to it. IMO, it's no better or worse than Bulkhead's name. But one thing I am hating is how many people on these forums keep referring to him as "Lugnutz".
I agree with all the points you make. I really like the Lug based of what we've seen but the name is bad.
Though I like his name as-is, I think Thunderwing would've been just as good. Especially having seen THE PUNCH.
Thunderwing should be used for a sleeker kind of jet, something a bit faster. Lugnut is big and hulking in both mdoes so I think the name suits him pretty well.
Eh. Lugnut is fine. I'd also be okay with Airquake, Greymock the Everhungry, or Stacey. But not Thunderwing.
I completely agree, I think he is poorly named. As you said, "Lug Nut" doesn't really evoke the menace that an giant evil flying cyclops bomber should. I almost think that "Lug Nut" and "Bulkhead" should have had their names switched. "Lug Nut" sounds almost affectionate ("ya big lug!") while "Bulkhead" sounds more like it has to do with an airplane. But yeah, there are definitely already lots of pre-existing Transformers names that would have worked very nicely: Thunderwing, Skyquake, Overcast, Dreadwind, Darkwing, Divebomb, Blackout, Stormcloud, Nightflight..... and those are just off the top of my head! But "Lug Nut?" Not so good. If anything, that would make a good name for a smaller, landbound character.... a jeep or somesuch.
Tidalwave or Blackout whould of been more fitting for him so it doesn't matter as long as I see shockwave SOON!!! though he probly won't be in animated until the rising of megatron episode
