What I do when the head does have a screw is take an exacto knife, carefully slice through the seemlines, and carefully take it apart. most of the time, it's glue and pegs holding the head together.
Added more green and orange. Started adding blue to the hips and white to the hands, pelvic area and feet.
I've got the stripes on his legs white and the sides of his head blue. When that dries, I'll add the red streaks. I bought these for the pipes on his back. I was looking for rubbery straws. They're more durable then your average straw so I hope they'll fit.
Well, I'm actually at an impasse. He'll get done, it'll just take longer then I'd like. Turbo Man is very cool.
I clicked this link thinking it was a different turbo man. While it wasn’t who I expected, I am still thoroughly impressed. Great job.
I finally got the guts to try and take his head off with a knife. The other head was a bit too big for the ball joint, but I innovated by cutting a small piece off the rubber straw, attaching it to the head and ball joint and super gluing it. It worked! I'll hafta wait for it to dry before I start painting though. Looks like this project is back on track. Dunno what I'm gonna do with poor Mirage's head? He'll probably haunt me. And no, I didn't mind your guys artistic expertise discussion. Thread definitely not hi-jacked.
I finally had to look up Turbo Man. Seeing Arnie wig out, and knock Sinbad off his feet with a toy car was entertaining.
Okay, its on nice n tight. I added the blue and I hafta figure out where the hell my black suncatcher paint is, so I can do the visor.
The eyes look off somehow? I don't like the way they came out. He looks like a slightly deranged mosquito. I don't know what to use for the pipes on his shoulders. I considered very thin allen wrenches, but I'd hafta cut them and I'm way too chicken to do that. Plastic straws are too flimsy, and I'm terrible with clay.
Deranged mosquito . I think what the problem with the eyes is two-fold. Firstly, his eyes are a bit too low on the visor, it should probably be a bit higher. Secondly, If you look at the art reference, he doesn't really have big eyes to begin with. Sorry, but I have no idea on the tubes, straws could work if you can find them thin enough.
