So, even though I'm part Irish, I'm not a fan of drinking. Watching drunks however, is endlessly entertaining. None of my RL friends are into TF's, and I don't know people well enough on this board to go "Hey, you wanna hang out?"

Can anyone suggest any social activities to do at Botcon besides getting hammered?

 

Well, you can always walk to the bar.  

 

Im not much of a drinker eathier, so it would be cool to find something to do. Hopefully megamus has his parts party going on

 

I plan on drinking but not quite the level of some of the others on this board. However I'm going solo, so I'll be down for hanging out at Botcon.

There needs to be a "will you be my Botcon friend" thread for all us loners.

 

Just because others are drinking, doesn't mean you should think you have to. Hang out with them anyway; drink non-alcoholic drinks at bars.

 

Yeah I'm not much of drinking either. I limit myself to one or two, otherwise I will get really sick for days. I'm traveling and lodging with Foster who doesn't drink either.

I fully intend on hanging out at the bars with you guys though.

I'm not a big drinker myself, but I do like to drink socially but not to get stinking drunk. Botcon is my vacation and I'll have a few beers while I'm there, but I'll be "hanging out" with friends too.

There's always stuff to do, and there's a D&B there.  

 

Well I know I will be at Game Works at Newport on the Levee if anyone wants to join me. The have alcohol, but I go for the Nachos and chocolate/bananna frosty drinks (non alcoholic). If a bunch of people wanna show up, maybe we can get the VIP room!

 

We will have room for the non-drinkers as well, no worries.

 

Kings Island is open on April 20th!

Thanks Draven, but no worries, I never feel pressured to drink. I'll have one or two, but it's not my thing. My Irish cousins thought I was crazy when I was over there visiting. I was 18 and legal age for drinking there, but didn't feel like it since 21 was the age for the states. My wife says I was bizarrely well behaved, and I am not Mormon/Muslim/other religious affiliation. I just don't want to be the buzz-kill in the room.

What is Game Works? (my geeky self automatically thought of Games Workshop) Is it like D&B? And a VIP room for TF fans? That's like a Gucci Pocket Protector. Cool; but dorky. I'm in!

Yeah, what Draven said. It's still fun to hang out. If anything you can laugh at us who are hammered. You don't have to drink to have a good time.

Funny thing, I don't really drink much normally, only when I go out from time to time (I'd rather have toy money), but when it comes to Botcon, I drink a lot  

 

I don't think that's ever happened with anyone. I honestly wouldn't worry about it.

 

QFT. i never had a problem joining others for drinks despite not drinking myself. its just a beverage and doesnt prevent me from having as much good time as fellows that drink. why stigmatize yourself? peer pressure is for teens

I don't groove on the atmosphere at GameWorks, so I've never been to D&B and thus can't give specifics, but the two are definitely similar.

As Always a parts party every night and most of the time the dealer's room is closed. Drink if you want, drink soda if you want. It does not matter. As for not knowing who is who just remember. A stranger is only a friend you have not met yet. I have met several people on the boards and have made many friends. People I now call on a regular basis and know when Botcon rolls around will hang out with. Every year I try to come up with something like name tags from board members. Maybe if everyone gets one of Alphie's shirts we will recognize each other. I always wear my MegaMus shirt so you will not have a problem finding me. Walk up and say Hi, trust me I won't bite.... hard anyway....

 

Looks like me and my freind will be good after all. I heard some drinks a re expensive anyway.
