I like to reuse/repurpose leftover toyhax stickers for stuff. First up is my most recent project. Even MOAR toy looking Sideswipe For the shoulder wheels, I put an 8mil round magnet in the shoulder. Had to carve out a little plastic with a drill bit for it to fit. Then took a KO tigertracks front wheels and cut part of the hinge off. They lock into place with the magnet but the lip on top gives a nice clean look. Spoiler Next up: Laserbeak in order mine using FT as the base cartoon toy boxart FT original I was going for something that evoked the toy but not slavishly accurate. just some details and accents. The difference in red is really hard to see in person but it shows up glaringly in pics for some reason. More later
A link to my very first custom thread. In that, I got rid of GP Grassors tail kibble for those who want the legs on the outside like it should be. Minor/Repaint: - Giga Grassor -Leg kibble fix
G1 Toy Flavor Gears. Badcube Grump Little paint Some leftover toyhax One MP Bumblebee battle mask Side note: the one I used for this was a reissue. I had no idea the reds were different from 1st and 2nd release until I was done and taking pictures.
So, I'm very pleased with Swindle. He makes a great toy deco MP (with a little wink to animated.) Here's he is followed by some stock photos of the original UT, G1, and animated. UT Gahzranka Gundam markers Toyhax set Some scrap toyhax labels from various figs Gundam 1/100 hands Love and attention. Remember I'm going for toy deco so the black chest piece is intended to call up the center black online on ol G1. The box art and toy have different colors for the labels so I went with the toy. Also a little nod to the grey chest in the very last pic was my final touch.
Continuing the Combaticons: Brawl isn't the most imaginative. I used the toyhax set and repurposed some of its own leftovers for extra highlights. MP Megatron and TR galvatron sets gave me what I needed for the feet/legs. Not sure what set the black circles are from tbh. They're just some holes left on the sheet. Faceplate is window tint from Ecto 1. The crotch symbol is just because Brawl seems like a guy that would wear a big belt buckle and start fights in a bar. I know it's not slavishly accurate but the G1 toy didn't really have much lol. Stock image of UT Archimonde from the Internet somewhere.
Continuing the team... UT Vortex Gundam paint markers Toyhax set Toyhax leftovers (Ki cyclonus, galvatron,Blurr) TLC
...and finally, Onslaught. Not doing as many pics of this one because I'm tired. I'll post some group shots tomorrow hopefully.
