I think Nelson is Micheal Bay spreading mis-information.
Maybe this is being taken wrong.
Maybe the twins aren't in the film - Maybe when transformed they are combined into a single robot (As they were originally designed to be) So strictly speaking the Twins aren't in the film as we knew them
Just my guess!
While I have no explanation for why we saw Mudflap's alt. mode on set, maybe he's right. Maybe Skids and Mudflap aren't in it. Maybe Mudflap dies. I have kind of found it odd that we've only seen Skids' DotM toys, and never Mudflap's.
He does say "The Twins" aren't in the movie. He never said just one of them couldn't be. The closest he got was saying "There's a better chance of a certain actress than Skids and Mudflap", but one might deduce that he's speaking very cleverly, and putting a lot of emphasis on that "and". Kind of like that "two coins add up to 30 cents, and one is not a nickel" riddle.
*EDIT* And, of course, as soon as I posted this, I see someone has posted a photo of a Mudflap toy lol.
so the twins models were on set...why would they film them but not take the time to put them in the movie? thats weird.
Ima find it funny if when the movie comes out and the twins aren't in it the fandom get angry..
I don't believe a word of what Nelson says. Both Mudflap and Skids' alt mode was on set and was clearly filmed and the toys definitely have their heads. Nelson's either in on the mis-information campaign or he's just full of crap.
I love how in the same thread he first states "those are diffrent characters" Then later says "Yes they are the twins, but they got cut" which is it?
Oh...It's neither? OK!
My theory? Skids and Mudflap are in the film, but not really.
They may have been upgraded, given new more adult personalities via a reformat by Sentinal Prime or the Ark. Like maybe the whole ROTF personalities was the result of either a glitch or the fact that Skids and Mudflap were the result of a split bot/spark. in the movie, maybe it will be explained that Ratchet found a way to recombine thier sparks.
Either way, I know there are twin haters. But I took ROTF and the first movie to be made for kids with some realism for adults. Lets face it, if you can believe alien robots can land on earth and take the form of cars down to the last bolt, survive the cold of space but freeze in the arctic, take the form of a human (Alice), land from space with a small impact crater or even an undamaged pool, or one of any unbelieveable things in either movie you have no right complaining about how believable ROTF was. where does you suspension of belief end? Its like watching a horror flick and getting upset because you cant believe that a girl would run into the dark woods, but not question why no matter how fast she runs, a walking Jason will always catch her.
These are kids movies meant to be enjoyed by all. Check your brains at the door and look at the pretty girls, fast cars, giant bot and big explosions.
Plenty of reasons: runtime, CGI expenses, or they were not relevant to the plot at all and they just decided to drop them altogether.
Though at first I didn't think so, since Skids already has a new toy, but so does Jolt, and he's out of the movie.
I wonder, if they are cut from the movie if it means they might retcon the Twins into having died fighting Devastator? We never did see them again after the battle, and Devastator walked off not really much worse than when the fight started.
Prolly been asked a million times before, but who is this Nelson guy? Just someone off the sfte forums or someone " in the know"?
I bet this is either:
Michael Bay feeding Nelson BS.
Or Nelson just screwing with our brains.
GM probably payed a good amount of money to get the Chevy Sparks in that movie and wouldn't be too happy to hear that at the last minute they got yanked out. Besides, Michael Bay's favorite characters are the Twins(And Bonecrusher), I think he'd just give them a smaller role. ANd wouldn't it cost a good bit of money to have their CGI models animated in Black and just not use them?
Unsuccessful troll is unsuccessful.
Everyone's feverishly speculating and arguing about what's going on... Congratulations, Nelson. Mission Accomplished.
If Wheelie gets a new buddy that is a classic, I hope it would be Grimlock.
"Him Wheelie, Him Friend"
The cars were on set, and there's figures that look EXACTLY like those cars that are named Skids and Mudflap? Yet their not in the movie? Um, okay.....
Maybe he means they just don't have a big role in it. Or maybe they don't have any lines to take away the stereotypes.
He's Bay's webmaster. He reports to Bay himself.
This can go either of THREE WAYS...
1) He LIES.
2) They're reformatted into different bots...
3) They're not in the movie, and they just come up with two NEW stupid 'bots.
Either way, I just KNOW they're STILL gonna put something in this movie that will make me go "what the f***?"
so is wheelie's buddy the einstein-looking robot or a another new character? Thats the part I'm the most confused on.
Since Wheelie is a former Decepticon, is his friend also one?
