So... Was at Target in Hackensack today, and I noticed the Cyberverse Commander/Legion Class two-packs of Bumblebee / Megatron and Leadfoot / Ironhide... and noticed that the machine wars gun that was packaged with each was NOT in the package. In fact, I found four of them missing guns. I took a shot and asked a sales floor employee if he knew what was going on, and he said he heard at a meeting the little guns that were packaged with Transformer figures were not being included because of safety hazards. My guess, probably the fact they split into two parts might have something to do with it. Or... someone ripped off the guns and returned them. I took photos with my cell, but they came out pretty crappy. Thoughts anyone?
My Guzzle is fully armed, and I can't imaging he was made before those guys. Go back and check the bottoms of the boxes for double taping. This line has been bait for brats who like to steal the mechtech guns, maybe someone likes the missing cyberverse gun too.
I did look, I did not see anything that evidenced tampering or box damage. They looked pretty clean. I assumed it was new since I saw 2-packs that did have the little machine wars guns in there. I don't recall Guzzle having any of the machine wars guns included?
Odd that this is the first I heard of the MechTech theft's, although the other day I bought Shockwave then exchanged him (QC). I almost bought one without his blade weapon, luckily the customer service lady was nice and allowed me to take the blade weapon off the faulty figure I returned, I just chalked it up to another QC issue.
Hmm, we shall have to see if there are more reports of this. I got one of those guns with Leadfoot/Ironhide, and I can just imagine how easy it would be to swallow. Shame though, I thought the weapons compatibility really helped Cyberverse stand out from the old Legends class.
I hear that. I thought the Machine Wars guns were pretty cool with the storage feature on the little figures. I agree, it would be a shame if this is going to be a new run of the figures. It strikes me as odd though, if the guns really will be absent in the future, why a recall was not announced. Aren't stores obligated to publicize things like that, or is this just an example of a change being made to prevent future problems? All it takes is one complaint to cause changes. It's not really a bad thing though. If there is a safety risk, I would rather changes be made than having a toyline canceled.
