Looks like ebay is cleaning house on Bootlegs.
My friend who sells bootlegs on Ebay got all his auctions taken down.
They told him "it is trademark infringment."

All I have to say is YAY.

So is this the end of bootlegs on ebay???

    Nice!
Crappy KO's ruin the value of the originals.

Who's your friend? Could you find out more, like if Hasbro legal was behind it?

    Edit: Is it genzhao14?

    Ebay:
It could be someone just reported the guy, and all the auctions got caught up- but I doubt all KOs will ever be pulled. There's just to many ways to get around it. I'm not a huge KO fan, but if people want them, they'll get them. I don't think it drags down the price of the original, but makes the originals in higher demand. I know I as a collector only want to dispaly the real deal.

If all you're worried about is the value of the originals, then I believe you have your priorities mixed up.

But are these the KOs that are actually using Transformers trademarked names and such, or are they the crappy ones that just copy the designs and are called things such as transforming robot fighters and robot transformables?

Not Only did they took his auctions off, Ebay also suspended him. All because he sells Ko's.

This is such a bad thing. Now these guys will just stop saying that they are KOs and try to sell them as originals.

I doubt ebay is going to be proactively scouring auctions for 'trademark infringement' but technically that has always been Edit: Against Ebay rules. Many times if you auction something using a trademark of a similar product people (the trademark holder) complains and your auctions get nuked.

This happened all the time with Warhammer and games workshop. If you put 'warhammer' and any of your figures were not real or used other figure lines, you would get your auction pulled.

My guess is these are old ebay policies simply being selectively enforced based upon complains.

Wow if you search for transformers KO almost nothing shows up. Devastator searches are also turning up only authentic stuff, not even the Changeable Robots ones.

wow really? I guess it wasn't just one single seller.

Search for 'Chinese reissue' as well.

Also Check the 'stores' as I doubt the stores would be banned just the products removed.

Edit: Wow... Search for "Metrotitan", "Mirage Transformers", "insecticons". And "Chinese reissue" Has 0 results. This looks like the work of a Company not just a pissed of KO-hater

It looks like datewithrose, and funexport2007 are the only big time KO sellers left. buyitjnow hasn't been kicked off, but he's only selling one knockoff.

    Edit--sharpteeth1 has a few too.

Wow. Looks like Hasbro got to eBay or something, because if you do a search you hardly find anything (and you got to search hard too).

This is kinda weird. Does sound like more than a KO hater.

Hell I care neither way (NO flames please) if I owe the orginal or a KO. I am just happy to have the toy. And if it is an older toy no one can get ( or i cant afford) then to me I do not care. I would PREFER the legit one but if all I can afford is a KO then so be it. I will cherish my KO till i get the real deal. I do not think it hurts the market if it is clearly a KO. Sometimes if I am interested in a toy, I would get the KO (if available) and if I like the mold I will go for the legit one. I only see KOs as a benefit for someone that loves the toy line. I have also never seen the price of an orginal drop due to a KO being released. I have seen prices drop due to a legit rerelease.

Hopefully this does not lead to some sellers being even more ambiguous in their listing of knock-offs.
