    so I am rereading the idw movieverse comics and not only is crosshairs in reign of starscream(name only looks nothing like him obviously) but there's a decepticon that looks remarkably like Nitro!

    According to TFWiki, that's Vortex. TBH, he does kinda resemble Blackout.

    Oh yeah, forgot about Crosshairs. Oddly enough, I'm fairly certain the AOE version is, so far, the only character in the movies to steal a name already used in the tie-in comics or movie toys. Well, aside from ROTF Arcee, who was easy for the comics to claim as still being the 07 character.

    I'm pretty sure that was a toy-only redeco of some Energon/Cybertron character that was used to pad out the first trilogy toyline - several of which were given bits in comics. (To sell toys, of course)

    IIRC, that guy in specific is introduced in that panel and immediately killed by the sniper he was pointing at.
