Nintendo Wii sets US sales record

"According to the latest NPD figures, the Wii has done more than introduce gaming to your grandma, as the console has managed to reach the 20 million mark in just 31 months on the market, MCV reports. That makes it the fastest-selling console in US history.

Following Nintendo's announcements for New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Fit Plus, we wonder if the console will ever run out of steam. Considering how well it continues to sell in this region, despite the poor economy, we doubt it will any time soon."

talked to a few stores whenever i see stacks of Wii sitting there. They say that its selling the most but not as fast as it used to. WiiFit is the one that sells the most of anything from what they say.

 

They are making a LOT more consoles now because the demand was so HIGH. Now the supply is more then meeting the demand. It's a worthwhile console IMO. Quite a few games for it that are fun to play. I'm DLing FF4: The Later Years soon enough.

 

but... but... the wii is just a gimmick

 

People also called it a fad, they said the same about Pokemon also.

I've seen MadWorld played to the end, the announcers profanity get on my nerves too much to ever purchase it...
I'll think about Tiger Woods 10, because if you buy it at Target this week you get a 20 dollar gift card, I think...

 

madworld was good, but no more heroes was better. can't wait til its sequel comes out.

 

Yeah, No More Heroes appeals to me more and it's immaturity is more stomachable to me.

I'm totally being a douche, and I don't mean it. I've actually been dropping hints to my fiance that we could do a lot of fun multiplaying if we got a Wii. And that Mario Kart would make for some great times. My first game would be punch out.

edit: though I have to admit that these Omega "Almost PR-Sounding" Nintendo Up-to-the-minute threads are amusing. It's almost as if Regie is paying you to post them.

 

Most the articles I post are copy and paste from various sites. No one pays me to do anything, except Walgreen's where i'm hired as a photo specialist; last I checked they have a neutral stance on "gaming wars". I've also posted Sony and Microsoft news in the past. I just post what I find that's interesting, and the way I type may have to do with the fact that I fancy myself as game journalist (who is just too lazy to try to put his foot in the door, despite his connections). I like writing this way, it's also how I talk.

 

I know, bro. I was just being goofy. To be honest, I am really starting to get the urge to buy one, and it's funny but the real reason is because I'm starting to get a ridiculously bad itch to play some Zelda Link to the Past, and aside from emulating it on my PC or playing on my little DS screen the best option is the Wii (which sucks because I had already bought it when I bought my original Wii so I will have to pay for it again). The system doesn't remember purchases you've made based on your email right?

 

no, but if you had an account, there's a chance you might could call their 800 number and have your account switched over to your new wii, which would let you re-download anything you already purchased.

 

I hope so because I kinda went on a spending frenzy when I bought it. I had StarFox, and all of the Zeldas available at the time.
