Definitely Kirby since it's next month. Maybe Splatoon 3 and/or Bayonetta 3. Considering it's apparently mainly focused on the first half of 2022, not sure I would bet on Metroid Prime 4 or BotW 2 since I think at least one of them will be winter holiday releases if they release this year (though of course they could be titles outside the "mainly" qualifier they use).

Yes agree. The mainline Zelda's have pretty much all been November releases as far as I can recall.

Prediction wise, I'm going to go with a gameplay focus on Kirby since it's imminent, an update on Bayo 3, Chocobo GP, Triangle Strategy, etc. since those are all also spring 2022 releases. Probably an update on Sparks of Hope since that's a big Ubisoft collab that has gone kind of silent of late. The big crop of third party games we already know about like Rune Factory 5 among others. Maybe some confirmations of leaks e.g. the Arkham Collection, if it turns out to be true, among other big third party releases/confirmations. And maybe a firmer Splatoon 3 date. Oh, and an Advance Wars 1 + 2 Rebootcamp date, since it had a delay. And the usual requisite sizzle reel of smaller things.

Honestly, all of that already makes for a decently meaty Direct. So I'm not going to feel let down if we don't get more than that. And like others, I suspect BOTW2 is likely going to be focused on in a later direct, in prep for a Holiday 2022 release (if it isn't pushed back to 2023.) That said, if we do get any, some welcome surprises could be BOTW 2, Metroid Prime (be it 4, trilogy, or Prime 1 remaster - anything would be nice,) and/or something totally unexpected (new surprising IPs are always my hope, and Nintendo always has something cooking usually.) Would be nice, but I'm not going to demand or expect surprises, because the obvious guesses already make up a good presentation IMHO.

Personal hope? As always, give me a Xenoblade of any kind and I'm good. :lol  I'm very easy to please in that respect. An X remaster with less pop-in and some quality of life improvements would be a dream come true. Everyone hated that game but I was addicted to it lol. Even more than 2.

Either way, happy to see a Direct coming, news has been really slow of late. Nice to have something cool to look forward to tomorrow and for Switch owners to have another little periodic burst of activity to celebrate again.

Not really predictions but, Mario kart 9 would be nice to see. Hopefully some sort of update on Metroid prime 4. They’ll probably show Kirby. A real long shot would be shredder’s revenge, but it would be nice to hear something. It will be interesting to see if the Arkham collection pops up. One thing is for certain, definitely keeping my expectations low. I’m over WiiU ports at this point. Although a remaster of Metroid prime would be welcome.

I honestly don't know besides Kirby and Splatoon 3, I'm tired of guessing and just Nintendo being completely wild and out of left field with it.

    It was aight.

As a fire emblem fan…. I don’t really care about the new iteration of warriors :/

Mario strikers coming back was a cool surprise.

    No mans sky…. eh.

Mario kart 8’s dlc is apparently a stand in for Mario kart 9, lol.

Some of the square Enix games were kind of neat.

Apparently Nintendo is trying to make lighting strike again with Nintendo switch sports. It’s like wii sports but with an uglier artstyle!

Kirby looks cool… and terrifying at the same time…

Im actually surprised that there weren’t any updates for certain switch games, like rabbids for example.

Damn... There was a lot to this! o_O  My wallet is crying.

Lots of JRPG goodness in this stream. The biggest ones for me were the Chrono Cross Remaster, Front Mission Remastered, and Live A Live...which I hope all get physical copies. (Please?)

I am all over that Chrono Cross Remastered because that is one of the few games I can say I played through multiple times to unlock ALL of the party members at the same time. And them adding Radical Dreamers is a nice bonus.

Front Mission and Front Mission 2 coming is awesome as those were good games back in the day...for strategy RPG style fun with mechs.

Live A Live was a surprised given we never got that game in the U.S., so I really want to play it given I never got to before, and so it's basically a new JRPG for me.

The 48 extra Mario Kart 8 courses is awesome...at this point how many tracks AREN'T in MK8 though with that add-on? XD

The new Kirby looks pretty good with all new gameplay mechanics...even if some look a bit "creepy pasta like".

A new Mario Strikers but now you can equip your team members with stuff to make them better...I'm there!

Klonoa 1 and 2! I loved those games, so there's another want for my list.

I missed getting to play Earthbound Beginnings back when Nintendo had it on the Virtual Console, so being able to play that alongside the SNES Earthbound on my Switch is awesome.

The Wii Sports game is alright...though probably should have been something for early in the Switch's life.

I know some people are excited about Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but I just couldn't get into the franchise. tried with Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but...just didn't pull me in with its story and stuff really.

As for the rest of the reveals...never been a big Fire Emblem fan or Splatoon. And the other stuff was...there. But the things I listed above were what I really noticed.

Nintendo switch sports probably would’ve been a better option than 1-2 switch.

Kirby was the only that stood out to me, which is fine, my wallet appreciates it.

So weird they're porting the Wii/PS2 version of Star Wars The Force Unleashed, it was my favourite version but you'd think they'd do the PS3/360 version.

Wow. That was a hefty Direct. I'm in for Strikers (that was a surprise!). Cool to finally see that third game in the series show up too!

I wasn't expecting Portal 1 and 2 to come to Switch, but I'm not arguing. Hopefully this leads to more Valve games coming to Switch. What shocks me is that Nintendo, instead of just making a Mario Kart 9, decides to add FOURTY-EIGHT NEW TRACKS to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as DLC. All of them for $25. That would be a good deal, except that the tracks themselves don't look as polished, and feels more like they were ripped straight from that shitty mobile Mario Kart game.

At this point I'm convinced that Mother 3 is impossible for Nintendo to localize without having to change the game so drastically that it becomes something else entirely. I am happy that they didn't forget EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings and gave those to Switch Online members so I guess it's something.
