Looks like bowsers fury is a open world area and you can play as bowser jr now in that area as well as mario.

 

The one thing that makes me sad out of this, everything in Bowser's Fury looks so fucking good I wish it was its own game.

That is the coolest Bowser design and boss music ever made for the character!!

 

This is also looking like the natural progession to Super Mario 3D World games for Mario.

Open world environment with Super Mario "Worlds" strewn about. Path like areas that look like the overworld maps become in-game enivornments to travel to these world structures and once you get thee you play and go through its gauntlet to proceed further, opening new gauntlets/paths up or being able to cho0ose which one you want to do first.

 

There is a rumor we might get a mario 3d world demo but it has not been confirmed so take it as a rumor.

 

Bowser's Fury might be the best Mario Game since SMG. Bowser's design is incredible!

 

Reminder that it is not a full game, it is merely a new bonus story/dlc for Super Mario 3d World.

I would not be surprised if we just saw 70%-90% of what Bowser's Fury includes.


Also, with the stark difference in tone and Bowser's plot in this added content. I'm wondering if we are looking at the skeleton of another Mario game they were working on (Giant Goo Bowser and Mario/Bowser Jr. Team Up) that fell behind on development due to Covid and with a slated port for 3D World, did they just put the content that they add into it. As a saving grace and to garner more interest and revenue for the port.

I'm wondering if we'll see this concept in a Mario 3D World successor.

PS: The Japanese name for this Bowser form is "God-Slayer Bowser"

So pretty much Fury Bowser will awaken every now and then and you'll have to do your best to avoid his attacks for a bit. Collect enough Cat Shines and you'll be able to ring the Giga Bell to battle Fury Bowser once and for all.

 

They make it sound like Bowser's Fury could be a stand alone game when it seems like a side quest.

 

I honestly think it was going to be one, but due to covid and such, development fell through and they put what they had into this port to save their losses.

Cause besides the cat based island (using assets from 3D World minus the cat npcs). Fury Bowser, the complete tonal shift in story from 3D World and this dlc, the artwork and Bowser Jr. Helping you as a mechanic. Is just a huge difference from how 3D World plays and has been promoted.

How do we get from the concept of Meowser to Fury Bowser within the same game development?


If I had to bullshit a full game plot from this and what we know, I'd say in Super Mario: Bowser's Fury, after wallowing in his own fury due to losing to Mario so many times, Bowser succumbs to it and is transformed into Fury Bowser, the black goo being released onto the Mushroom Kingdom and messing stuff up as well. Bowser Jr. not liking this version of his dad, partners with Mario and they travel together to collect shines, needing them to literally brighten Bowser's mood and break through his fury.

 

Could have been an extra Oddysey world design they had laying around. The Bowser area part of it looks like it took 10 minutes to cut and paste to model the spike land area.

 

I'm excited! but, God, this guy's attempts at comedy were so painful to listen to.
