Speaking of Dragon Quest, since I’m enjoying DQ XI so much, I thought about getting DQ 1,2 or 3, but then remembered I have DQ 9 for the DS. I was going to bring my Switch on an upcoming Disneyland trip, but just might leave it at home and travel with my 3DS.

Luigi's mansion gamecube was 2 player with Mario and was cut!

(the two player is still in the game but is not playable without a hack!)

Man that would have been great!

Oh crap, I forgot to ask something. How much is the memory card I need to buy for my Switch? And what memory card do I need to buy? Is it just a regular SD card like the Wii U required or something else?

The Switch uses Micro SD card.

As for how much you need? It depends on whether you plan on having a lot of digital games, or physical games. For the first two years that I owned a Switch, 128GB was fine, but now, I have a 256GB.

Maybe start with 128GB if you’re on a budget, or go to 256GB if you can afford it (a bit of extra space can do you no harm). Not sure about 512GB or 1TB though; they’re expensive, especially for the capacity they have.

I've never heard of Gigastone, I would be afraid it would be a bootleg.

I actually was fine with the built in storage on my Switch for quite a long time. Only added a SD card earlier this year. Went with 64 GB because I had one on hand, and obviously I don't really fill up this storage all that fast.

Yeah that seems a little sketchy to me. To good to be true, like. There are tons of fake micro SD cards out there. I had a bad Samsung EVO card that I'm pretty sure was fake.

Whatever @Ismaeel Kamal buys I would strongly recommend to only buy from well known first party sellers. No eBay or third party Amazon sellers.

The Micro SD cards that I brought were from SanDisk from Amazon. The 256GB were a bit pricey (roughly £70), but based on previous experiences with them, and due to it being a big brand in this department, I went with them.

@Mark is correct, beware of what Micro SD cards you buy. A fake Micro SD will trick the system into thinking it has a large capacity, but in reality it's very small and if you exceed the limit, it will overwrite existing data.

Integral was one brand I consider, because their 512GB cards were cheaper than the SanDisk 256GB cards, but after I found reports of them being unreliable and/or being slow, I decided to avoid them.

I don't plan on doing any digital games at all unless they are free like the ones on PSN. I just don't know how much install data each game requires nor how much each saved file and firmware update sizes are.

I thought the saved data can't be copied over onto another card though? I would rather just buy the card I'm going to use permenantly in the machine at the start.

The product I linked works fine in my Switch and has been for over a year. But alright.

Maybe it's best if you see how much of the internal storage you fill up first with the games you have, and then decide which Micro SD card you should get.

It's worth mentioning that the only space that some physical games take up on the Switch is patches and save data. The game itself does not need to be installed, unlike the PS4 or Xbox One. However, others do require some files to be installed, due to the size limitations of the game card.

I believe save data are stored in the internal memory by default, unless there's no space there, and that it is possible to transfer them between memory cards:

That is not entirely true, there are several games that require download and install.

Why wouldn't they be optional? the demos have standard controls, the previous Revelations games had both standard and gyroscopic aiming options, the Wii game had options for the Wii remote, Gamecube controller or Classic Controller.

because stupid decisions have been made with some switch games in regards to motion controls like gamefreak forcing motion controls in pokemon lets go despite the fact that it is entirely superfluous in portable mode
