It's a nice bit of news, but also worth keeping in mind that Japan has been absolutely abysmal for home console sales in the last five years. Japan has been by far, the weakest territory for PS4, but has been the first or second (it switched a few times with North America) strongest for Switch.

I also can't believe the machine has only been out for two years - it feels like a life-time ago to me!

Can anyone confirm whether the version of Kid Dracula included is an English translation?

Its awesome that they released a Castlevania collection, with all the games you get and at 20 dollars that's a really good deal. Between the anime on Netflix and loving to play as Simon & Richter on Smash Bros Ultimate I've been getting really into Castlevania so its nice I have a chance to play the original game.

I'm most likely going to jump in on those vouchers. By mid July, I should have around $75 in eShop credit thanks to Bing Rewards. So $25 out of my pocket would get me two $120 games. The program's catalog says I can use it on preorders of MUA3, Astral Chain, or that new Fire Emblem game coming out.

I would definitely use it on MUA3 unless something drastically happens to make me lose interest. As for Astral Chain, I haven't looked much into that outside of the reveal. FE, no interest int that genre.

You get about 250 points max everyday when you do searches on a computer (150) and mobile (100) alone. There are other small things to increase that number. I also get points from doing things on the Xbox.
To keep it simple lets just say theres 30 days a month times 250 points a day. So roughly you'll get 7500 at the lowest every month. One of the rewards I redeem is a $5 Amazon credit that cost 5250 points. Well, I just use that credit and buy a $5 eShop code. If you do some of the extra stuff on Bing and build a streak, you should come out with $15-20 every two months. Some months, you'll earn double the points.

I had no idea you could use the Amazon credit to by an eshop code! My mind always put that credit and codes into a "gift card" category, and I was always told you can't get a card by using another card.

Yeah, I think there are actual stores that won't let you use their gift cards towards other gift cards or maybe I'm just thinking of coupons. I know when Amazon gives me promotional credit, it can only be used towards physical items that are only sold and shipped by them. The $5 from Bing is a gift card, not a promo so it's all good.

The Castlevania Anniversary is a bit weak sauce IMO. No Rondo of Blood, no SotN, not even the 2 64 titles or GBC Legends game with Sonia. Aside from Kid Dracula, GB Castlevania II and possibly Bloodlines you are not getting anything that hasn't been re-released recently on other platforms. Which makes the price for what you're getting rather ho-hum, again, IMO.

It isn't like we can get a 3ds version with all the GBA/DS releases in an Anniversary Collection. Since nobody is making any new 3DS games as the hardware is on its last legs at retail. EB Games is already phasing out 3DS titles on their shelves making it harder to find anything physically. So... yeah... I might pick it up for Kid Dracula at least and because I'd probably collect every version of a game physically if I could for the likes of Castlevania, but considering how easy it is to get over two thirds of the offerings on that compilation cart/disc I seriously hope Konami has plans for a second release with more titles. Especially the GBA titles because those are hard as fuck to find for any kind of decent price on the secondary market.

As far as I'm aware of, those two were recently re-released on the PS4 as part of the "Castlevania Requiem" collection, and supposedly only the PS4.

It's $20 for games from 4 different systems with work done by the gold standard commercial developer for this kind of release, it's easily a fair price.
