Turn-based squad combat. I enjoy it.
That was on my radar and I completely forgot about it. Thanks, 3DS thread.
It's kind of like Advance Wars only it uses several different classes of soldiers. No tanks or vehicles(that I've encountered). The game is rather easy most of the time(I am on the lowest difficulty though) but if a single one of your regular force dies it's a game over so you can't just mob the enemy with swarms of generic troops like Advance Wars.
Another thing that threw me for a loop at first. If you attack an enemy and your unit is within range of other enemies they'll retaliate by attacking your soldier. The same applies to your troops being attacked.
ORLY? I might have to pick up a cheap Ghost Recon then, I've seen it heavily discounted... in ASDA I think? Yeah, I think I will. Cheers!
Just got a blue 3ds and zelda 3ds today.
Say goodbye to your weekend.
I have to work sat & sun.
I picked up a 3DS from Walmart on Tuesday (although a manager had to manually alter the pricetag on it, they were aware of the change coming). The only problem, aside from not picking up a game to go with it yet, was that I can't connect to the Internet ANYWHERE.
At home, it looks like I have to manually enter the MAC address to my router to connect but I don't have the login info yet. At WiFi spots, it can't connect because they're the sorts of places that require acceptance of the location's terms via the web browser. Which I can't access because it requires a system update. Which I can't download because I can't connect to the internet. This is ridiculously frustrating and I'm half-tempted to trash the thing. I also think I've missed the Ambassador deal at this point, rendering the whole point of getting it this early useless.
um, pick up a game ?
I was going to tell you to visit a friends house who has easy access to a wifi connection but it's a bit late for that now.
Picking up games wasn't the problem. I just didn't do that yet.
McDonald's with free wi-fi.
Apparently if you can prove you brought it before the price drop (so a valid receipt) you'll be able to phone nintendo and sign up for the ambassador programme that way =]
Yes, I already tried that. And it didn't work for the same "need to accept terms via browser" reason that I already mentioned. I got an excellent signal and it was close to working, but it failed to connect to Nintendo's server.
Thank you! I am going to try this today and see how it goes! Hopefully the fact that I registered it to Club Nintendo will also work in my favor.
I been watching gameplay of sml3d. Can't wait for that game.
Can anyone tell me if 3ds is roughly the same size as the original lite?
I'm looking for a case now and the choices are kinda slim pickings. I've seen a couple I liked but the regular ds ones are cheaper...
They're really close in size, I don't have both with me, but I was comparing them both last night, the 3DS might even be a little smaller.
They are pretty much the exact same size.
The 3DS is closer to the size of the DS lite than any other system, even more than the DSi. Any case that fits one will fit the other. The only exception would be something designed to be form fitting, like a hard case or silicon sleeve.
I would warn against getting a case that's too tight though. Get something with a little bit of breathing room. It's very easy for the raised edges of the bottom screen to press against the top screen, which can eventually cause scratching. Using screen protectors helps guard against this, and it's also easy to pop out the rubber bumpers on the top half of the system, add a layer of double sided tape, then put them back in so that they extend out a little further to prevent contact from happening, but I'd still advise against anything too form fitting. My first case was a neoprene sleeve that I used to use with my DSi. It fit the system very well and fit in my pocket as well, but it was pushing the screens together even with protectors and the bumper extensions, and the screen protectors eventually got vertical lines indented into them. Luckily it wasn't permanent, as I just replaced the protector and the screen itself wasn't damaged, but I've only had the system since May and if I hadn't been using the protector I would have been stuck with a scratched screen. I'm using the 250 coin drawstring pouch from Club Nintendo now and I never get those lines anymore, even when I carry the system in my pocket. Just a heads up anyway.
Looks like zone of the Enders is coming to 3ds: Hideo Kojima tweets 'ZOE 3DS' logo - Joystiq , also: 3DS eShop will get Metroid 2 and Super Mario Land 2 | Myona.com and Free Zelda: Four Swords Coming to 3DS and DSi | PCWorld
Urban champion 3d is easy. I made it to round 55.
