    This is more of an update to an older thread but I read about this earlier today and just watched Michael J. Fox on Letterman. Apparently Nike/Michael J. Fox Foundation are auctioning 150 shoes per day for 10 days. Cool thing is that the founder of Google is matching winning bids for the MJF Foundation.

    While the shoes are replicas from movie with added lights, the eBay listings do say this...

    Q: DO THE 2011 NIKE MAG SHOES POWER-LACE?
    No. For the power-lace feature you will have to wait until 2015.

    Kuddos to Michael j. Fox for his charity foundation and finally making this shoe come to fruition. Better than any custom attempting to look like the real thing. This gives us better hope that these will be available via general release one day. So close yet so far.

    So in 2015, I can hope for a mass release of these with Power Laces so I can be a geek and make a Hoverboard to take with me to the store. And more than a 4 hour Battery Life per charge please.

    Yay for Nike on making the shoes and making a big contribution to the foundation, Boo for Nike for making it so expensive that I'd never be able to afford one :(
