I've wanted to do a Nightbeat design for yonks but never really had a good idea or I never really liked the result so on that note I'm rather happy with this I dont often do the heavy shadow thing but it seemed fitting here and I enjoyed giving it a shot.

Alt mode is a classic 911 minus his trademark flames (I will reference them but not in the same way as the G1 toy.)

Have you ever made a robot with round shapes?

Looks great! Nightbeat was always one of my favorites. His color scheme is one I have always thought looked great.

    Keep it up!

What is this "round" you speak of?

I'd think so at some point I had a fan character called Bandit who had a classic looking side-car for a chest plate and skirt and a guy called Road Boss who had monster truck wheels for legs.

its not that I have anything against round objects I sketch people quite alot its just that my style lends itself towards sharp edges and this being transformers it goes without saying that 99% of the time things will be a bit angular in some way when its all done

Gives a very Wolfwood vibe (from Trigun) which is not a bad thing, fits the character pretty well I'd say.

Edit: very awesome drawing by the way.

Your more angular, boxy style is one of my favorite things about your illustrations. It alludes to G1, but it's not slavish to it - in fact, quite the contrary, as your designs feel extremely modern without incorporating much of what we feel is modern (such as the Bayformers designs). Always a fan :)

That said, I really like what you're doing with Nightbeat here. I think many of your choices fit his "detective" persona (especially the revolver type gun). Excellent work :thumb

Anyone else get "Won't Get Fooled Again" stuck in their heads just by looking at this design?

Disgustingly beautiful artwork! Very unconventional how you made the back end of the car the upper torso area and I commend your unique placement of doors.

Are his doors supposed to evoke a trench coat?
