Nope I am with you. I don't like this cover. Looks too "toony". Hopefully the story is good though.

Don't really like the art style of both of covers. But a Hardhead story is damn awesome. More later years Transformers getting their own stories, please!

Not a fan of the Cyclonus cover. Who the hell is hardhead (and why do I care?)

I like the weirdness of the Cyclonus cover. Hardhead doesn't deserve a spotlight; I mean a few obscure characters were expected, but Hardhead? Thunderwing or Bludgeon should have been done first.

I can't understand why people like this art style. If the inside art is like this, I totally wouldn't buy it.

Because other people have different tastes to you, and that's ok.

I think that's the reason why I like it. It's just cover art. If this was the art inside for the actual content, no I wouldn't like it for that. So, I'm taking this from the perspective that it's just a one-shot art piece rather than reviewing it on the basis that the whole series would be drawn in this style. The art for the actual content will be nothing like this and be very similar to what we've seen from Su and Roche.

But I'm just one person who likes this, as a cover. Others may not and that's their opinion. I'll accept it and move on.

One of the strengths of IDW over DW is that they allow different art styles, not only in their covers, but also on the books themselves.

I like both of Nick covers, but still prefer the interlocking E.J. Su's ones. Then again, I don't really have a choice ... I get the cover I get. :(

I'm digging the covers, but not to nitpick...

Isn't Hardhead's shoulder canon over the wrong shoulder?

Cool art on the cyclonus cover, its nice to see some art changes, but let's keep Don's style as the mainstream.

    I LOVE these covers.

Agreed that there's some heavy Samurai Jack influence happening there.

I'm not sure if I'd be hyped if ALL the art was like this, but that's okay... covers can be more creative and expressive, so this approach is fine.

And frankly, considering IDW's track record with alternate covers up till now, I WELCOME this. My comics are on order at my local store, so I get whatever cover they happen to stick in the bag, and it's luck of the draw... so often, it's been "Ok, you can have the awesome cover, or the cover that sucks. Oops. You lose."

I would be thrilled with the EJ Su OR the Roche covers on these issues. They look classy and stylish, and like something I wouldn't feel vaguely embarrassed to be seen reading in public... unlike a lot of the crappy alternate covers we've had before now.

    MORE!

I agree with you 100%! However, I'd like to see Nick illustrate another series. With Su, I've came to prefer the more technical illustrative style of his work. I just feel that Nick's work is out of place with this series.

That being said, I'd LOVE to see him illustrate anther series, more fitting with his style. :)

My comics are also on order, and I only get one copy of each to read. Since that's the case, I always want my "-tion" series to have the EJ Su covers.

Depends what they do with the Spotlight, surely? Yes, there are more mainstream characters that they could cover, but even the more obscure TF's deserve some development. Then maybe they could, y'know, become mainstream?

all the characters rock to me, I just wish Hasbro would release them all in a retooled fashion like they did with the classics line and again release them all to everyone instead of making them exclusives to this retailer or that one and making it hard for people to enjoy their products.
