Fun fact: "Nataku" is actually Nezha's pronunciation in Japanese. They're spelled differently but the same mythical character. (Same case as Son Goku and Sun Wukong the monkey king)

totally forgot this was even a thing. Cool I guess. But maybe this is my own bias but given how western productions adapt themselves for the Chinese market I cant help but think this will be cringy in some way but this wouldn't be the first time and after all the movies owe a lot to china.

As for the toys it really depends Japans recent exclusives like transformers GO! were kinda meh Chorno Q's were cool but ran out of steam. So going off of that I'm guessing it's nothing the west would really be interested in.

Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. The entire concept has sounded promising since day 1.
The potential toys sound interesting too.

Well. Japan did in the late 80’s with Victory, that one series set in the TFP universe with the getter robo motif, not to mention a lot of exclusive figures that if not for the internet we would not get our hands on. So why not?

 

I don\'t know anything about this but that character design is already more interesting than any TF show has been since animated.

Recent ones were hit and miss ... duoluo dalu’s cgi animation had some good moments and quite a lot of product placement -.- bottled tea man get that out of here . Hope they contacted whoever it was who did King’s avatar .

 

Well, for one, Japan created Transformers. The baseline concept, not to mention the original toys? That was all on them! As far as I'm concerned, Japan has every right to have exclusive toys and shows. Beyond the financial plane, China hasn't made any notable contributions to the growth of the franchise.

 

Weird kid riding on wheels makes me think they need to put Bayformers Sideswipe into this, he would fit right in.  
(And yes, I know the character is from Chinese mythology... I have seen a few cartoons that deal with this pantheon).
