Looks like a cross of Animated and Cybertron/Galaxy Force to me. I'd guess he "Obi Wan-s" it for awhile but eventually returns in this body.

I suppose it makes it a bit harder for them to kill off Prime in this iteration.

It blows it wide open as to who could be the TF martyr for the next 30 years...

 

OPTIMUS IS BACK! sort of, maybe. I don't know. He could be like an Obi Won Kenobi to bumblebee I am guessing. Or will be brought back to like at some point.

 

That stand in art for Bumblebee looks an awful lot like the art used here.  

 

Wow that design is just awful there.

It's even MORE boringly derivitive than before. There must have been SOME other way to keep design continuity besides this blandness.

Also, I'm wodering if this show will be CGI done to look hand-drawn, like Tron Uprising.

EDIT: Also, why do their chests look so similar? I mean aside from just being an incredibly unispired and basic design?

 

I'm liking where this new show is going design wise, the background of that image is very cool looking.

eh, I am undecided with the two pics we have seen so far. BB and Optimus. I will wait until later to make my final opinion. But I really dislike that they are moving away from the Prime style cartoon in favor for a more animated version...

Definitely a lot of design cues from TFPrime, so I guess the same character designers are working on this?

Like with Bumblebee, I'll withhold final judgement until I see the actual product, but I'm cautious. It looks cartoony, but unlike Animated, or even IDW's Nick Roche or Casey Coller's art, it still managed to be stuck at some bland middlepoint of nothing. It's not overly stylized, it's not overly intricate.

I do like that background, though. What little we get to see looks great, with straight shapes and a level of simplicity that gives off a vibe not unlike an art deco poster (or a more recent example: a background in the spirit of Gene Tartakovsky or any of those other great cartoon shows)

Apparently these promo images are just that, promo images, and the actual cartoon art is better than this?

 

Well, the actual cartoon is CGI.

So maybe?

 

yep... just so they can knock him off again... sad part, I cry every time...

 

What I'd like to know is:

A. Which other characters will appear and

B. What the subtitle of the series will be (like Prime, Animated, Cybertron, Beast Wars, etc)
