    Hi everyone,

I'm looking to expand out my Masterpiece collection a little on the cheap. Currently I have:

    Ironhide
    Blue Bluestreak
    G2 Bumblebee
    Tigertrack

Which next should I go for? Are there any deals on Masterpiece right now? Which are the cheapest to grab right about now?

The Wheeljack mould is great, definitely worth owning one version of that. There was a recent reissue of Wheeljack which didn't sell that well, so I'm sure you could find one for a reasonable price. Obviously there are KOs too (for what it's worth your Tigertrack looks like a KO, noticed in your photos in the appreciation thread), so if you've already gone down that route then it may be an option again. In my experience the quality of the KOs never lives up to the originals.

If you want to try the Tracks mould you could probably get a Road Rage for pretty cheap, she has quite a nice alt-mode and didn't sell out at all so has been available for quite cheap. She would fit quite well with your other Diaclone repaints :thumb

Hello, your question will probably provide a wide range of responses.

If you want to expand your collection on the cheap, and you're open to KO in your roll call, perhaps Wheeljack? I've seen some go for USD$30 shipped on Amazon and the reviews seem quite good. If you already have an Ironhide, I'd hold off on Ratchet for now, same goes for the Fairlady Z, Lambo brothers and Bumblebee molds. Maybe Soundwave if you're into his design?

Ultimately it's up to you as all collection goals are subjective to individual aesthetics tastes.

For deals, there are a lot of them out there. Keep an eye out for eBay flash sales, and scroll through the BST threads here on TFW.

Have fun on the hunt! Cheers!

I have suspicions about my Tigertrack, but the weird thing is, his box didn't say "Takasa Tony" on it. It doesn't clasp closed between the hood and abdomen, and the joints are a bit loose now, so maybe he is a KO.

I was considering Road Rage, as it was a carbot under $50, and Wheeljack also. I'm open to bots who look even better with Reprolabels also.

    Thanks!

I'm open to Decepticons, and my preference is for official Takara releases of characters, if at all possible. Their boxes and box art just look so much more professional and high-class than the American Hasbro boxes I've seen on these boards. Soundwave does look like a fun MP to get, especially with all his little tape minions that can go along with him.

Yeah he probably is a KO then. My KO Sideswipe has the same problems. He didn't come with a 'TakasaTony' box either - just the standard TakaraTomy. Maybe yours is just an older version from before they started distinguishing them with TakasaTony.

Dangit. I thought I was getting a legit Tigertrack from Amazon.com. For legit Sideswipe, does that same problem happen at all?

My Sideswipe is floppy and has problems tabbing and standing up straight, but it's not a KO. It has all the legit tampos distinguishing it from a KO. Perhaps I got a bad batch.

I think it was only from Wheeljack onwards that they started labelling them as Takasa Tony. Your Tigertrack is definitely a KO, sorry man. The head flap doesn't close properly, no black line around the headlights, and the chest not tabbing are the three tell-tale signs. If you look closely at the lamborghini badge it probably looks like a gold blob on black - the genuine ones look a little less like a gold blob and a little more like the actual badge. Countach might be mis-spelled as well although with Tigertrack KOs that isn't always the case.

I'm pretty fond of Road Rage and Wheeljack. The Corvette mold has its issues, but she's a fun toy to pose and the color scheme looks great. I enjoy Wheeljack's transformation, and I like the way they did the alt mode.

Re: getting s Tigertrack KO from Amazon, it can happen, especially from a third party seller.

Wheeljack is an amazing figure. You cannot go wrong with him. I'm also very fond of the Tracks mold, issues notwithstanding, so Road Rage wouldn't be a bad purchase either. Tracks is still available on HLJ for just a bit over $53 with current exchange rates. Soundwave is awesome, but not cheap. I grabbed the recent Hasbro Asia reissue and it was $160, but comes with five cassettes, so it's a pretty good deal vs buying them separately.

I hate to say it, but the KOs that are shipping now have corrected the tampos, so it is possible that you got a KO with legit tampos. All my Lambo KOs have it spelled correctly.

Seems like you're currently focused on the oddballs of the MP line, so you might think about Exhaust or Clampdown. There are lots of ways you can go, though. If you don't mind KOs, you can fill in those slots and build your army up really quick and really cheaply. The KO Nissans are pretty solid. Personally, I've been expanding my third party roster, but that can get pricy sometimes. Soundwave's cassettes are pretty cheap, even for officials.

Have you checked around the Junkion Exchange here? I've lurked a bit, just to get jealous over the good deals there. :)

I'd say WheelJack, one hes was my first MP, 2 it wasn't really my first MP because hes a KO buts its almost impossible to notice the difference. Hes just a great figure, really playable.
Or you could get a MP Grimlock, I normally see him cheap, but that's from a UK perspective :p
Also Prowl, because Prowl, his KO is cheap.

Funnily, my original Sideswipe is a floppy mess while KO Red Alert isn't.

The TakasaTony KOs I've bought tend to be of similar or in some cases better quality to my original MPs. My Takasa Ironhide has tighter joints and the face doesn't slide off for no reason like the actual Takara one does.
