Yeah it's always fun when things like this leak. Clearly very early build though as many assets aren't finished yet. Update: Apparently the Hacker is threatening to release the source code if they don't pay him off.

This wasn’t a fun hack, it’s malicious in nature… and I do feel bad for the people at Rockstar because developers are the real stars in the gaming industry, and this isn’t how they wanted their work shown off to the world for the first time.
From the big man himself. Also, this hacker is trying to blackmail Rockstar HARD. Supposedly, he has much more he will show today and the days to follow if Rockstar doesn't meet his demands, whatever that may be, and will release current builds, and info, as the claimed footage is supposed to be a bit old. Also, he threatened to release employee info, contract info, and a lot of other highly sensitive info. At this point, I am pretty sure Rockstar has hired every major service from the FBI to lawyers to Private Investigators to hunt this man down fiercely. Legit, would not be surprised if they started sending mercs at this point to hunt him down.
That should shoot down those guesses going around that this was one outside-the-box publicity stunt Rockstar did. Hope they somehow catch this hacker/blackmailer.
Yeah no, its DEFINITELY not a PR stunt because if it was, they would have chosen a little better footage. The issue is, there are a bunch of idiots out there who are like "oH mY gOd, ThE gAmE lOoKs LiKe ShIt" and are completely dissing and hating hard on what they are seeing and to the point of insulting devs (Yes, I am not even fucking joking) because they are impatient as hell and can't wait till an actual release/announcement, so they are shitting all over a game thats in PRE-ALPHA. Also, Rockstar has been DMCA everything like fucking crazy, and when Rockstar does that, it means they already have a lawsuit in hand.
Oh the hacker just shot himself in the foot with the ransoming, that's a guaranteed way to getting caught.

THE PLOT REALLY THICKENS... So apparently according to what seems like multiple sources, the location, identity, and the who behind the hacks have been found, and it points to some 16 year old in the UK whose part of a hacking group. He mighta gotten away with it, except his buddies sold him out and supposedly revealed his identity, location, and IP address. Translation, they left him out to dry. I imagine a huge manhunt is currently underway
So the arrests have been made and it seems like they most likely found the guy, but sounds like they are still gathering evidence to really throw the book at him.
Just throw him in the dungeon and let him rot. Isn't that what they do in countries ruled by dictators? Anyway, man, what happened? Twenty years ago people celebrated like it was an amazing event when even a simple screen shot was posted of a new game in the works regardless of whether it was an alpha build or not. Now, everyone was making fun of it and calling the game garbage.
Woah! That went by extremely fast. I expected months or years of investigating before the leaker got caught… Exactly. As someone who works on creative projects that will eventually get released to the public it’s disappointing when someone else takes control of that and shows off your unfinished work. It’s not cute.
