I didnt want to plop this in that DOTM Soundwave thread since it's more like a what now.

Do they stay in a larger scale and movie or do we see them return to their legends line?

I personally have only been after the autobots, and I know they have a couple more decepticons planned but then do we get the rest of G1 season 1? Season 2? I've checked their FB page which has nothing so it's hard to really know. Plus with COVID maybe any new figures have been shelved for the time being.

Anyone? Bueller?

 

They'll likely be doing more movie bots concurrently with their legends line. They're currently the top player in legends scale so it would be dumb to say: "We're not doing that anymore." But movie bots are popular right now, so they'll probably do more of them.
I hope they'll focus on season one and two in their legends line for now and give us lots of redecos. I'd love to see some original decos like That yellow Ratchet too. That looked really great. I was less excited about the turtle bots.

 

I am hopeful that they'll continue with the G1 Legends carbots, specifically the lambo boys, Wheeljack and Mirage. After that, maybe Seaspray and Beachcomber. A Hound would be awesome.

This isn’t speculation, just a plausible wishlist...

G1 Legends

• Blurr is always #1
• Arcee, if Starscream is anything to go by they’ll beat all the MPs
• Skyfire? Doesn’t get enough representation at this scale

Movie Masterpiece

• Lockdown (smaller scale and better articulation than Peru Kill)
• Dino
• Sideswipe, although I feel like Takara will get to that eventually

I’d also like to see them start a CHUG/Reformatted scaled line to compete with MMC, but with more variety than the IDW comics.

 

For G1 speculation:
- Sideswipe/Red Alert (and all of the Lambo repaints) seems like an obvious choice for them.
- I'd like it if Sunny was right behind that mold, but he doesn't have as many repaint options. More carbots seems like a safe bet, at any rate.
- Do they even have a Prime yet? I am not aware of one, but kind of odd if not (I know the Legends line is flush with other options)
- Beyond that is really just a wish list: Dinobots and Skyfire would be my picks

In all their box work they show the DX9 Prime and Dinobots so I dont know if either are on their horizon.

I would like to see a powerglide, warpath, cj, lambos, mirage and hound too.

 

I want to say they mentioned Optimus at some point, or there may have even been a prototype photo floating around somewhere. I'm pretty sure he's on their radar.

 

I absolutely love their Legends scale line. In my opinion, probably the best engineered figures I own. And I own a lot LOL.
They have to continue their Legends line. I'd love to see what they could do with a G1 combiner. Also I'd like to see them do a G1 Legends Optimus Prime followed by an Ultra Magnus whos base is a white Optimus with the armor parts.
I did preorder their Soundwave, hoping it shares the magic with the legends line. If so, I'd really like them to try out making a Bumblebee from the BB movie. The current ones out are lacking and I think Newage could pull it off. My opinion is that the Zeta Toys verson is so far off from the car model, it bugs the heck out of me. The Transform Element one looks fantastic in both modes, but the transformation is so fiddly, I don't like messing with it.

 

I see G1 as their passion projects and think that's really where they have a strong market since they release figures very quickly. I'd pick up these quickly:

Optimus, (I really want the finish and plastics of NA over MS) Wheeljack, Lambros, Tracks
Any triple changers or G1 Movie bots.

MPM is more like their long-term side gig to maybe broaden their horizons scale-wise, as they've got serious engineering skill. I have no doubt that their entries will be fantastic here too. I hope we see at least 1 per year and even keeping carbots as a theme:

Sideswipe, Jolt, Skids and Mudflap, Stinger, Hatchet & Crankcase etc.

Can't really offer an opinion on Bayverse bots.

But I imagine we'll see legends G1 Shockwave soon. NA has covered or hinted most of the S1 Decepticons at this point.

I am guessing we'll see Optimus Prime soon, like end of 2020 or 2021. For carbots with NA's focus on big names I'd bet on Wheeljack. Or Sideswipe with his repaint/remold potential (Red Alert/G2 Sideswipe). For minibots my guess is Cliffjumper or Huffer.

I expect Skyfire or Dinobots before S2 or S3 bots.

 

If NA XM line is still in the Bayverse movie 1 - 5 line, I wish they tackle on TLK Barricade. That's one good design character but sadly no one manage to tackle it well

 

I think we'll see a Devastator. We really need a new one in legends scale and there are several repaint opportunities. And NewAge LOVES that sweet, sweet repaint money.

I think the next minibots will use a Windcharger mold. It comes with an easy recolor and they could do Knight Rider themed one.

I think there's room for even more Seekers still, just not soon.

 

Considering NA hasn't been afraid of many, many redecos, I'm thinking (and hoping) Megaplex and Microchange Black Walther got a shot. If Takara won't MP-36 them, at least I think NA will do them.

I'm curious what they'd do with movie stuff. Assuming they stick to smaller carbot types at first before getting more aggressive, Sideways, Crosshairs, and Drift would be interesting.

 

Actually a Jaiza design, but they pretty much ripped off his iron hide, so I wouldn't put it past them.

 

I'd like to see Reflector, Soundwave and company (including Buzzsaw!!!!), and Shockwave first, with more seekers - the rest of the Welcoming Committee and Rainmakers, and Redwing mixed in along the way. Then move on to the S1 Autobots. Something like Hound, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Mirage, Wheeljack, and Trailbreaker first. Then the minibots - Windcharger, Gears, Cliffjumper, then Huffer. After that, the triple changers, then the S2 carbots (MS bots last). I'd like to see them save Prime, the Dinobots and combiners for later. DX9, MS, and MFT have Prime and the Dinobots covered pretty well. There are plenty of options for combiners - I'd probably be looking for combiner teams individually as a pretty low priority. I'd also love to see Jetfire and a 12 - 15" Omega Supreme at any point along the way, but I don't know that New Age would be the company to give it to us.
