Did your Redwing come with cape and flight stand?
I’ve got Redwing on the way & still holding out hope for an orange Sunstorm
Hopefully we get another round of repaints eventually, I want a toy deco Thundercracker to complete the diaclone pair
Yes to the cape/coronation gear mate but no spcae bridge/flight stand parts.
That would be awesome.. I'm always down for more NA seeker molds!!
Just received my 'reissued' Seekers trio - regular Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker - and from what I can tell, only Starscream feels like the only potentially reissued figure, here.
Aside from all of them appearing to be absolutely ideantical to their respective first releases - colours, packaging, accessories-wise... - the other two guys suffer from the exact same tolerance issues of my original Thundercracker (loose ab-crunch and hip joints on top of everything else). It's all fixable, and there's no QC blemish to speak of, otherwise, so they're still pretty excellent and I'm 100% happy with my purchase. SS, though, came out of the box way more solid and tight, and that's something I noticed right away.
Given the fact Show.Z - no idea about other stores - only has a separate Starscream reissue available for purchase, at the moment, I'm inclined to believe the trio might be that figure bundled with unsold stock of the other two Seekers.
I got the latest Seekers in today, as well as Cyclops. The jets all have nice decos, but if Newage decides to retire this mould now, I definitely wouldn’t shed any tears.
Can confirm that there’s enough give in the connectors to enable people to make either an 11-piece space bridge or a 12-piece one, so let me be the first person to eat a big slice of humble pie and apologise to everyone for my bull-headed arguments way back in this thread that one of those numbers was possible and not the other. You want 11? You want 12? Surprise! You can totally do either.
My main gripe is with the EX Starscream - I was expecting all the G1 sticker detailing to be tampos, and that’s correct to a certain extent, but it turns out that the ones on the underside of his intakes are actually stickers. I guess there are technical reasons why you can’t print inside of a cavity like that?
Undeniably, this is a good looking gang...
Waiting for the Coneheads, now.
I've mostly avoided these guys due to NA's high prices but I've just ordered my third NA seeker: that toy deco is just too damn sexy. He'll live with my toy Soundwave and Megatron, and I'm hoping they'll do a nice toy deco of their Optimus (preferably with a remolded head though I'm not holding my breath since they didn't remold Megatron's head).
Probably mentioned this before but I picked up Hodur 'cuz he was on sale and it's just a sexy repaint, and I picked up the Golden Lagoon version 'cuz I plan to have a golden lagoon scene in my legends collection someday.
the trick is to pick them up whenever someone moves away from the hobby. that and make sure to always use a coupon...
as far as retail price goes that is the main reason i stayed away from these for so long.
but i think i grabbed the main 6 mint and complete for like 130 shipped.
Are the space bridge parts all the same color or is Starscream’s noticeably darker than the other two?
I think they look good too, I just can’t pull the trigger on these or the MS versions. I think both companies could do better. As it stands now my DX9 cone heads and seekers are still in commission. No seekers out now IMO made a tremendous leap forward in design enough for me to replace the set I already own.
I mean I feel like the new age ones are as good as a seeker mold can get in general at that size. Especially the robot mode
No, it does indeed look identical to me. No colour differences.
I own both sets and I agree, they look good too, I like them a lot.
I'd say they feature a more cartoon-accurate design in bot mode, which is pleasing to my eyes - on top of their jet form being pretty much spot on without the need of any wing filler - but they are definitely more fiddly figures, and require a meticulous clean-up process, in order to make them look fine, even in the simplest poses. I've seen many folks here posting pictures and claiming MST Seekers looked bad, while leaving the chest and the sides of the torso undone, or the wings and the null rays in all kinds of wonky positions.
I'm not familiar with DX-9 offering, but I can totally understand people willing to wait and see if a 2.0 revision for the Seekers will ever come out of NA or MST design labs.
I just don’t get that at all, the NA Seekers are a HUGE improvement over DX9. But to each his own.
Again, they look good. No ones doubting that in the least bit; however, IMO they are not good enough for me to say, “hey lets replace the current set of 6 seekers I already own.” No they don’t have that appeal to me in the least bit. Now if I didn’t have any seekers these would be a no brainer. The space bridge would be tempting if I didn’t own 3-d printers. Replacing my IF Shockwave with New Age Shockwave -> huge leap. Replacing old DX9 Soundwave with MS Soundwave and tapes -> huge leap. This leap not so much at least for me.
Edit: They are a huge leap. Set of 6 ordered
Yeah, that’s totally fair - I’m probably in the same boat with the DX9 Dinobots, which are perfectly fine. Any potential future MS or NA version would have to completely blow them out of the water for me to even consider replacing them.
I’m in the same boat for them as well. I have those in my collection still standing too!
Ya know... I have to admit when I'm wrong LOL Watched a few more reviews after reading this post and noticed a few things I overlooked previously. When people who have them in hand swear by them, it's worth another look... just like everyone told me -> I found they are a huge leap... 6 jets ordered New age>DX9>Magic Square
