i dont see anything here that would move me away from MS prime.

I'll stick to my MS Prime. This is great for those looking for the cartoon aesthetics.

 

Damn!! that's like a mini MP44!!! tempted to pack up and sell my MPs for these!! cheaper easier to collect almost like mini MPs!!

 

Yeah, the fake windows put me out. Which is sad, because I was really looking forward to what NA would do with Prime.

I don't like the look of MP-44, and they even copied his weirdly squat upper body. I know in the description it mentions that Prime and the White Magnus have a 30% difference to them, but I have a feeling they're just talking about swapping out some of the fake bits (or truck parts that don't become part of the robot like they should). So, I'm not holding much hope towards what that difference will be. Also, he's EXACTLY as tall as MS Prime, who I always felt was a bit too tall. But oh well on that one.

Kinda hoping people start selling their MS Prime and I can get one for a decent price. That one still doesn't hit all the marks I would like, but if this is it, he's the best option out there--and doesn't cheat doing it.

I see DX9 Dutch's Sunbow stylings mixed with the detailing of MST's OP. If that's your thing, then this is something to be excited about.

 

I just want a powered convoy, (or Delta Magnus if you prefer) since there is proper armour this time

 

  here we go. First of all it doesn't break the sculpt. How do you think people get into cab in the first place? They use the cab doors. If anything MS Optimus is a mutant for not even having the doors incorporated on his sculpt. Talk about reverse psychology.

 

The no door thing is an interesting thought, but what he meant was the doors didn't have to open, just like 99% of other figures.

 

I've bought a bunch of the MS Prime repaints...sooooo...I'll probably buy a bunch of these as well. The head is definitely better proportioned than MS (It's a wee little head) which is a huge plus. Definitely has a bit of a Dutch vibe to it (still love Dutch too). So yeah, I'm in on this. Bring on all the colors/variations you can just like the Datsuns and the Porsches. And then let's see some lambos and other car bots.

 

So is the NA Ultra Magnus the white Prime plus the aromor? If so that's a must get for me since no one has done this yet at this scale.

My comment was more addressing the "Breaking the sculpt" comment which is a bit silly as it doesn't and MS doesn't even have sculpted doors. And for those saying this is more toon aesthetic than Magic Square optimus prime, please look again.

Yes, if you look at the thighs, and the inside of the calves you can see the White Optimus standing there. Now his upper chest will have to be on some sort of extension to get the matrix chambers to align, but the initial statement said that this is precisely what will happen, what will be what differentiates this from their regular Optimus release.

 

He looks just like the R.E.D optimus toy, but he transforms. I love it.

 

The opening door at this scale is one of the few truly unique things about this design.

 

This is a dick move on Newage's part. They show us their fronts, instead of a full on showcase. They showed class with the Seekers and the Stunticons, but not with Optimus Sanchez Prime.
