It's feasible -- DX9 and Magic Square pulled it off fine.

That said, I think the thicker antennae look kinda cool!

damn, even with the jumbled mess of colours, Prime is looking good! i have been considering picking up the MP44 KO since it was first announced, but held off due to all the QC issues. with this NA Prime, i can probably forgo that now. will have to wait and see if this will replace my MS Prime as leader of my Autobot legend collection.

 

Guess we won't be getting a super hero landing pose out of Prime, but that mold looks beautiful. It will look so nice next to my MP-44.

 

Looks like the thruster backpack is included? You can see it molded in teal.

 

They could never let MS one-up them by not making a jet pack for him.

can i be the third type who just doesnt like it because it just looks a tad busy and off... 

besides the fact that he is wearing a head that would make god ginrai proud. i am not feeling this torso length at all.

am i the only one who thinks this is awfully squat? i also hate that upper arm joint especially if it is anything like the seekers.

i hope this is actually the mags bot and not the actual prime.

 

After BB and Cliff, I want to see pics at more angles, they are trying too hard to be mini master pieces, and I'm worried we may have a huge backpack situation like the mp version.

 

You aren't. It's one of my issues with MP-44; the abs are too squashed. Except for some reason it's even more so on this one. And people say that's the only way to do it with square windows or the body is "too long," yet TE proves that's not true.

That, and the faux chest windows had me out as soon as I saw the Magnus version. Held out hope that the "30% difference" they talked about would add real truck windows for his chest, but I was so certain that wasn't going to happen I bought MS' legends Prime instead. That one has some issues for me as well (a bit too tall, small head, floating upper body in some poses, hate the hip skirt/hip articulation), but he checks off enough boxes to make me satisfied.

And yes, I used to have DX9's version--which sports faux windows for his chest--but I always knew I could modify him if I made a triangular cut in his neck panel to let the truck windows face forward (and it didn't look bad with those windows as his chest). I just got bored of him too fast and didn't want to make the mod in case I sold him later.

It's too bad. I had really hoped NA would make the Prime that I wanted, considering so many others they've knocked out of the park.

 

whenever i see that squat torso and large windows/pecs. i immediately think of bolo yeung from karate kid.



i wonder if that is who the model is based off of. somewhere in the world this was his reaction when he saw the reveal.

Overall your complaints would go under the “I don’t like it because it’s to much like MP-44”

MP-44 has been described as To busy and squat.

I personally like it but thankfully the MS figure is an amazing alternative.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they would give the white prime Magnus the Sideswipe jet pack so I would assume this is Prime himself.

I feel like this look comes from a humans perspective below, where the close legs would naturally look longer and the far away upper body would look smaller in perspective. It doesn't translate well to a front on look.

 

Does Somebody know if NA have a non albino Magnus in the works too?
