This new van mold makes the previous versions look like G1 toys.

Ok, maybe not THAT bad, but still - night and day difference. I don't feel too bad about upgrading them yet again.

 

Just curious what did robotoybase tell you about the replacement head?
I’m in the same boat with the blue eyes and bought from the same retailer, I really prefer the red eye

Hi, does anyone have a pic of NA Ratchet/Ironhide with the Magic Square Sideswipe mold? Curious to see the actual size difference, thanks.

 

You can rotate the light bar 'down' instead of 'up', but then it sticks out the bottom:


I really wish NA had made the lightbar as two halves that both rotate down on either side, so they'd both be completely hidden.

My Ironhide is in the mail, and I don't have MS Sideswipe, but you can get an idea from these pics that have some common reference points:



Both pics have HS Ratchet, NA Jazz, and NA Bumblebee in them. You can see that MS Red Alert (and thus, MS Sideswipe) is about the same height as NA Ratchet.

 

Oh, that makes me like it a lot better. I agree tho: having it split in half would have been better; but maybe at this scale there weren't able to make that work well. At least sticking down the red blends in with the red of his waist.

 

So my only gripe about Ironhide is the hole in his roof where Ratchet's lightbar screws in. Be nice if they had made a little filler for it. But, at least it gets hidden in robot mode.

So, I'll probably display Ironhide in Robot mode (don't need to worry about the hole) and Ratchet in vehicle mode (don't need to worry about where the lightbar shows). I'll probably also have Inferno and Prowl with him in alt modes as a little Rescue vehicle group.

 

I like the light bar showing in robot mode, it gives Ratchet another look than Ironhide. With the extra parts trying to make the figures all look a little bit different.




Now just have to wait till Tata is out.

For the people who bought their Riddick (NA H7B) from Robotoybase with the blue or black eyes, on the site their is a mention that you can mail to [email protected] to receive your Riddick head with red eyes. It is also on his Facebook page.

Otherwise hes perfect or darn near. Only thing might sway me away is the magic square. I have to see this guy with my dinobots

 

No, but I have lost one of his little fists already. Took me about a day to find it. Kinda of like Flipper's gun; easy to lose, but definitely neat though. And a big step up from the accessories that my old DX9 Ironhide and Ratchet came with
