Correct. Size interests me less than quality. THANK GOD THIS ISN'T A EUPHEMISM FOR ANYTHING
It's your collection, but you do realize you're downgrading from 8" to 3", right?
I appreciate it when people don't get all nerd rage about scale, but these are going to look a little strange on a MP shelf.
I transform into a jet plane and an aircraft carrier. I assure you I understand the concept of different sizes.
True, but I don't group my TFs by scale or type. I just keep the ones I like together so I can admire them with my chin cradled in my upturned palms.
When Trekkies see McCoy, they always assume it's the Doctor.
McCoy from Hatfields and Mccoys... Gun Toting stuff - Ironhide.
Right? I’m not thrilled with this new Legends scale to begin with, but it’d go down easier if it was being built around some spectacular Optimus toy.
Production missteps aside, I think DX9's Dutch goes great with the NA guys. And honestly, if you got one now then the loose hip balls would probably already be fixed, leaving the only considerable flaw to be the single panel hip skirt.
MST's looks absolutely incredible, largely because it is a downsized and simplified rendition of MST's MP Optimus. And while I love my MST figures, I don't know if I love the idea of mix & matching them with other lines because of the materials they use. Their figures have a matte finish similar to Iron Factory's, that is great for color representation and photography, but looks out of place to me alongside the glossy surfaces of some of their contemporaries.
See, I didn’t even know Dutch had any production issues, I just think he looks bland.
I’ve definitely got my eye out for the Magic Square one. I’ll forgive some aesthetic differences with the other brands if he’s as nice as their Ultra Magnus.
I think it would have been absolutely brilliant if they named them Hatfield and McCoy, with Ratchet being the latter instead. (I know they don't fight each other, but it still kinda works! )
Regardless, I'm likely buying both.
Looking back at the preview pics, I'm most excited to see their Megatron. He just looks like a tiny MP 36 and that would sell me on the whole New Age line.
I REALLY want that Megatron. Even if they do plan their own Prime eventually, I hope he's a good match for DX9 Dutch.
According to a comment reply from New Age in December, in addition to Megatron, the datsuns, the vans, porsches and ufos, they've also got 13 different unseen moulds waiting for production. When asked if these would be in scale with Dx9 Optimus, they said yes.
I wonder who the 13 are? It's hard to say what DX9 figures they will skip and which ones they will replace (I wonder if they'd make my tapes*).
And now it's just occurred to me that I don't think I've seen any size comparisons between NA dudes and DX9 Constructicons. I wonder how they match up?
Still sad mft didn't do your tapes.
DX9 really needed the reprolabel set, HS was too big for any
Aren't they doing a Bayverse Soundwave too? It might be more movie molds.
I hope they have a Cliffjumper in the works or at least more minibots.
Could be. It's hard to tell what they're actually saying through Google's translation attempts, but it was in a comment thread comparing their ambitions and ability to deliver to that of MST, so who knows.
Me too, man, me too. I'm hoping they just ko them. I'd laugh at that.
a ko of your bots would be hella funny. but i certainly was interested in what they could have done with your designs.
you should try to reach out to MS to see if they might be interested. because their "tape" is a joke to say the least.
I've started buying these little guys... got Goldbug, Prowl, Jazz and Shockblast all ordered/pre-ordered. I missed on the other legend-size lines, so I want in on this one at least, even tho thei're slightly smaller than all the others. Need to do more Decepticons tho.
The good news is, even if you’re down with this sort of mini-MP scale, you can still pick and choose the larger Decepticons from the other lines.
