Windcharger is a funny character for me. My feelings for him came from the toy. The toy was a very slender, wirey figure. Between that, and his bio as the fastest autobot over short distances, that became solidified in my mind as his build. It bothered me that he was stocky and broad in the cartoon, and that most representations of him since have followed suit. The only one that’s fit my image of him was the scout class figure.

All that aside, this isn’t bad. Maybe it’s just not very feasible engineering wise to turn that kind old a car into a lean and lanky robot. If they release this with a toy-homage head, I’ll probably get it.

The Face is great, the proportions are good, and from what we can see, there is no backpack and a grey back ! That’s incredible. Sure, inner feet are a bit unsightly, but that’s a small compromise at such a scale (cartoon Windcharger had duck feet anyway).

If I remember my Sunbow chart correctly, Windcharger is as small as Bee and Cliffy, which will make for a very small toy with Newage scaling.

In the end, as an overall feeling, I love him. It feels like Windcharger for me (while the MS version didn’t, due to the small head/large chest/weird face/backpack, despite the clearly superior engineering).

The feet are honestly a great way to get the more angular shape from the cartoon that I’ve never even thought of doing before. Pretty genius! Most other releases just kinda do it like the G1 toy did and they don’t quite match the shape of the toon.

I don’t like how they angled the fit, but I’m down for this and tailgate

I think this dude looks great. I can and will forgive weird feet on a figure of this size, because I’m happy it simply exists.

I kinda like the feet, but yeah they’re definitely different.

I mean the feet are weird but also accurate. Kinda shows why 100% Sunbow accurate is sometimes the wrong thing to do.

Best Windcharger so far. Foot design is brilliant. I’ll need a couple of these. He does need hubcaps though.

Not quite as they angle/flare outwards a bit too far and have more than noticeable curve.

    Comparison shot time.

I think these CAD models are just missing the rivets that act as hubcaps, since I can’t see those or any pins either, just the holes they’d be assembled into.

It's missing the darker blue and the wheels.

I dunno after seeing the toon model again I think I can get used to the feet, and the face/headsculpt and size is so much better than MS I might bite. Looking forward to seeing a prototype.

Ah, I just noticed that the headlights/grill in car mode transform into his forearms and the side windows fold backwards to become the lower calves. I'm guessing that the roof of the car/windshield will swivel 180 degrees to settle into the torse so weget the grey trianglular back.

The feet don’t bother me… the lack of hubcaps kinda does. Hope that gets tweaked before release.

    Otherwise I like this guy.

Another plus for NA Windcharger : the length of his arms feels right.

Well, I assume this guy is really small, smaller than MS, so when it comes to detail we have to keep that in mind. Really couldn’t care less about this character though, literally last on my list of hopefuls.

That leg transformation is super clever!
Brilliant approach to getting the show accurate look.
Great face sculpt too. Needs some hubcaps though.

Oof... Another easy pass. Not the best NA moment.
