Ugh...legends is so tempting, what with hasbro plastics being complete crap for mainline lately

What does DX9 Gabriel have to do with this NA Omega Supreme?

Do you believe that the G1 cartoon should be the baseline for modern day G1 style toys?
If so, I think the proportions are pretty close.

the front page news story shows as “Newage H53 Gabriel (Legends Scale Omega Supreme) Color Images” which is confusing the shit out of people.

Since both the NewAge & PanguToys Omegas look to be somewhat downsized DX9 Gabriel's in different areas.

IDK what you are looking at for MP stuff that is modern.

Like DX9 Gabriel was made 5 years ago.

MS isn’t a MP primary company. They made two Optimus figures and use very little paint and cheaper materials (in price not quality) than the rest of the 3P companies.

Wow, cant believe this. Mods need to seriously step in and correct this confusion. These are two completely separate things...

Also Newage is an offshoot from DX9, so it may be the same person that designed both Gabriel and Michael.

I think that “getting more complicated” is simply design evolution in action. One of my favourite things about modern-day legends (and I’m definitely counting Magic Square in this too) is the ingenuity in design.

I love the fact that these are mini-masterpieces, with figures that look like they just stepped out of the cartoon.

I can have nearly a full cast of G1 Transformers that fit in a small apartment, take up relatively little shelf space, are cheaper than MPs but are just as fun.

Ditching MP and downsizing my collection for Legends was one of the best collecting decisions I ever made.

If you’re after a cheap ‘n’ cheerful smaller-scale Omega Supreme there are other options out there. Yes, this is likely going to be a pretty expensive toy, but with space at a premium this is likely going to be the perfect representation of the character for me.

I’m with you, I do think people are going to get priced out of Legends soon enough (and the non-stop release rate is a killer). But realistically I’m never going to get my G1 cast in MP scale, so for me as long as they keep up the quality and playability, NA and MS are are my go to companies at the moment.

NA was started by designer(s) that left DX9 when DX9 started having financial issues that were fueled by their products being knocked off.

What stuff from them was KO'd often enough for financial issues to be the cause? Just from memory I can only think of a few old legends figures getting KO'd. Otherwise, most of their stuff didn't seem to get KO'd.

it is and this is definitely what i had hoped a gabriel 2.0 would have looked like.

i always wished dx9 could have taken the best from FT and WJ and produced a 2.0 fig. all that is missing are the sounds from the WJ bot.

this omega looks nice and i can't knock it. but i already have gabriel and if it were a titan size i would buy this in a heartbeat. but as it sits now there would have to be a little more mmmph to this to get me as a buyer.

but dude checked all the boxes of updating his original design and adding a little more poseable options to the limbs was a nice touch. what a fantastic time we live in these days where all this is possible.

Almost all of their Legends stuff got knocked off in some fashion. Off the top of my head I can think of Optimus, Megatron, Soundwave, the Seekers/Coneheads, Scourge, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Kup, the Dinobots, and the Constructicons.

I think MFT has KO’ed most of their toys. Hulkie is easily the most KO’ed figure from DX9.

it wasn't really that. it was more of the issues they encountered with their huge flag ship bots for that year. gabriel and motormaster ran into huge issues at first and that kind set everything in motion everything that lead to the company ending as we knew it.

but to their credit no matter how you feel about dx9. they stayed the course and made sure every customer was taken care of even at the risk of their company. most other companies toy or real world have told their customers to basically get fucked whenever shit like that happens. so kudos to dx9 for falling on their sword.

All of their Headmasters as well, minus the Horrocons and Cerebros. Come on MFT, we are still waiting for those........
