One of the reasons why I didn't want to do a comparison photo with MST Inferno, cuz he is older figure and I know that wouldn't be a fair comparison. However someone has already done it and I can say MST Inferno still looks good.

It's funny to me how NA and MS are basically engaged in a war of who puts it out first/does better

Then Iron Factory is off doing its own thing

hmmm… kudos to NA for managing to hide the complete ladder in bot mode. but for whatever reason, i'm not feeling any real urge to replace the MFT improved OSKO version of MS inferno (and eventually grapple). for me they have been a perfect representation in my collection. granted the NA version will probably have a better finished look to it and and have better plastic quality, but inferno alone will probably cost me 2-3x the price paid for the set of MFT inferno and grapple. o_O

also i'm usually a fan of clear plastic for windshields, but in this case i really don't like the fully clear plastic showing the inner toy parts. think they should have tinted/smoked the glass so it wasn't so obviously noticeable, particularly whatever those two circles are. :p

that being said, i'm sure NA will kick out a multitude of decos for this as usually, and there will be at least one that will eventually reel me in hook, line and sinker.

Iron Factory was smart when they decided to do their own thing and not focus on 80’s nostalgia.

Yeah even their designs based directly on the G1 characters tend to be stylized/modernized takes rather than Sunbow clones.

They're based on IDW comic designs, no?

The ladder can be 'hidden' on MFT Inferno too:

    :D

I remember it was very cheap -- ~US$13 on TaoBao before International shipping. The plastic felt very cheap, though.

But yes, it is good enough for me too.

I'll probably get one of this mold from NewAge, probably Grapple.

When are the New Age Autobot X build a figure pieces coming out? It has been a long time since they announced it, and none of their figures are including them.

Damn Newage, let us breath a minute! What’s their normal release schedule? One mould and all its repaints a month or something?

Seriously, I feel I like haven’t had a chance to spend time and really enjoy some of these yet because they are coming so fast. Just doing a quality check, stacking them up and moving to the next one. Lol. :(

Just a quick note, in the original post where they revealed the promo pics, NA mentioned that the windows aren't going to as clear on release. I'm guessing they're gonna make them more opaque to hide a lot of that inner stuff, just not sure how opaque they're gonna be until he's in hand, maybe once Zhen gets his review out or something?

I'm not trying to make a discussion of this, I'm sure the engineering is fine, but that's not what I was talking about, I was talking about how they look in both modes and how the plastic looks

MS just seem very ugly to me

Ironfactory do have some negative's particularly with their earth alt modes, but other than that they are fantastic, fun and beautiful looking figures with lovely detail and interesting designs

Always appreciate when when not everyone goes down the 80's animation rabbit hole, 80's gets milked to much
