If NA is feeling really generous and they fix the windshield for Grapple, they’ll include a replacement for Inferno (atleast for the first run, like Megatron’s legs with TC) in Grapple’s box so that those who bought both can easily make the swap for Inferno.

 

I'm a big fan of Newage but feeling my MFT Inferno is holding up very well against both the Magic Square and this version, so more than happy to hold onto it.

That windshield is such a shame. And for those hoping for a fix for Grapple, to me it looks like Grapple is ready to ship and will be releasing very soon. I'm thinking the factory has already begun or maybe even finished production. I still prefer the NA versions over the MS. But I'm really torn on whether or not to buy these right away because I'm wondering if there will be an improved version later.

When these were announced and they showed the gimmic of the ladder and boom folding away I was all in. In that time I settled with PAPA Toys versions and having got both for $40 I'm happy with my choice. Enjoy whoever gets these guys. Let's see some lambos!!

 

I thought that Artfire was going to be a must buy for me, and I do like the ladder gimmick on Inferno, but for some reason Inferno, Artfire, and Grapple are all looking a little weird, partly in the body and face sculpt. Will wait to see EX versions or EXR versions of all three.

 

What the hell is going on with Newage's pricing these days?! My pre-order balance price on him at ShowZ s $51 vs. the current website price of $65. First Skyfire, now this.

I'm tempted to go in just for this price difference, but I'll hold out for either Artfire or EX, which I'm assuming will look like the Artfire image just with a red cab and maybe silver head wings (or whatever you call those). I don't care about Inferno nearly as much as Optimus Grimlock or Skyfire.

 

ShowZ says they’re made to raise the price by someone (presumably NA) so they put coupons on their FB page for the difference when it happens. They’ve done it with medic, nightbird, Inferno, Skyfire and dirty Starscream so far.

 

Actually I didn’t have to put the coupon to pay my Inferno/Backdaft(punk - Yeah, that’s an awful pun….k) 50$ (without the cheap shipping and the preorder deposit)…

 

That's obnoxious. It'd be better if they just kept putting the coupons on the product listing like they did with Jetfire. Not everybody does Facebook.

 

Yeah, they also seem to give the lower price automatically if you have it pre-ordered, but yeah it's definitely extra steps and I don't think anyone ever likes going to FB.

 

Fwiw, it seems you don't need a FB login to view their page so that's nice. I braved the desolate wasteland that is Bookface so nobody else has to and I've returned with the coupon: NAH46

Here you go:
1. Yes, the front windshield is a seperate piece. As is shown in the green rectangles from the pic below, if you remove those 3 screws you should be able to take it out. I think the windshields on his sides are seperate pieces as well (so 3 translucent pieces in total), and the thin vertical bar on each side is painted, not red plastic.
2. The wipers are on the front windshield's piece.

He is solid everywhere and does feel a little hefty. but as far as I see only that part on his backpack is made of die-cast metal.

Sorry the pictures cannot demonstrate the oxidation very clearly but those parts (presumably made of aluminium) will look cloudy over time, especially on those carbots' wheel nails, e.g. Prime, Magnus, Mirage, Beachcomber etc. You can remove it by wiping the surface but it will soon reappear after a week or two.
It seems the more I handle a figure or put it out of the box the more severe the oxidation becomes, and is far less common on other people's copies. I do not know why.

Oh, also when converting him, DO NOT ROTAE THE PIECE THAT CONNECTS HIS HEAD AND ARMS COUNTERCLOCKWISE!!! There has been a reported case of breakage!

 

I guess he doesn't come with the build-a-figure parts for Autobot Spike? Did they cancel that, or push it back?

From what we know that's still happening but the parts are only supposed to start coming with figures starting from H50 (Hound) onward.

wait, what??? there's enforced fixed pricing on even more NA releases aside from jetfire and weathered SS? this is news to me.   i don't recall any mention of that in the arcee thread. any one have links to the coupons for everything? really hope this doesn't become a regular thing for all NA releases.
