I think you mean Takatoku. Takara never had any hand in the Macross Valkyrie manufacturing, but Bandai did release the 1/55 molds later once they acquired the license.

 

Choosing only 1 between NA and MS, it would be NA, because the figure is all white, and i am expecting NA to do full paint job like with Grimlock. Also, i think i like what i am seing, though i wish there is a happy face option included as well.

Now to decide if i want the MS Devy (green or yellow) more, or the NA Skyfire.

 

My first thought seeing the pictures is that I don't like the face. After looking more closely I feel the head and at least the arms (unsure on the legs) look too small for the body they are on. I appreciate the thinner body compared to MS, but the rest doesn't work with it for me.

I also do not like the look of the clearly visible landing gear in the legs, which I have never liked on their Seekers as well, and the way the logo area on the chest appears to be designed does not look good to me either.

 

Trying to discern in the picture what the scale is with Devastator.... because if he's around a Voyager in terms of height ho boy do I need it

 

I can take pictures with my Devastator and a common WFC / Legacy voyager figure tonight to show a general idea of scale.

I hope they lose the lumps on his symbol chest flopper. It’s never good when they mould the plastic to try to fit faction symbols.

 

That's a lot better. Doesn't have the "soft" edges look the other pictures did.

 

Normally I’d go MS for toon and NA for toy, but it’s not looking like that will happen this time. So far I am liking NA MUCH more, the proportions and sculpt, combined with that NA build. He’s gonna be so fun to mess with.

Unless MS somehow steps it up with the final version (which I don’t see happening), I’m going to skip the MS one and get this for toon as well as the inevitable toy version.

 

Very little waist rotation it seems. He's straight in almost every picture.

He looks fantastic. I always considered Skyfire as having a leaner physique than a bulkier one so I definitely like the proportions on this one. However, the lack of a waist swivel is concerning.

 

Some artists like Don Figueroa’s iconic Stormbringer take have beefed him up, but the upper arms don’t bother me. Even the official MP’s are fairly thin.

…. now I really want an armored up Stormbringer retool.

On the other answer, they said there would be 5 repaints, so I guess toon, toy, comic, clear and SG.

 

that actually looks pretty good. it's a little big for my taste and i really like the IF bot. but i will keep an eye out for this one.

 

He looks fantastic, but not without some concerns. So many visible screws for one thing, and some in really prominent places too! Couldn't this have been avoided somehow? Not sure on the face sculpt either but I need to check the cartoon again to be sure. Otherwise he really does look fab. If I was a NA collector, i'd be very happy.

I'm still waiting on MS' release though

 

Soooo, have they shown the EX Toy version yet???.... lol, here i am waiting on future repaints, when i should be happy to finally see NA Skyfire and that at least 1st batch releasing in Sep, but... i wanna see Jetfire too, and really dont care about any other color schemes (especially a black repaint)

 

It's not bad, it's nice that it has a turn at the waist, but that makes the nose of the plane quite strange.
