not sure how well i'll be able to execute this, but drafting up measurements and ideas in anticipation for depthcharge that i've just ordered. looking to give it a proper manta ray head that i'll 3d model, print and paint.

also decided i prefer the colours on the regular cyclonus and it being less busy over the EX toy version, so ordered one of those as well. so will be adding these two shortly along side IDW i already have to make it a trio for this mold.

i had decided on only picking up the standard version of Cyclonus and skip the EX version, but yet here we are.  

no fault of mine though… i ended up receiving EX version by mistake instead of Depth Charge that i had ordered and expecting.   currently working out the details on how to get Depth Charge that i still want.

now that i actually have it in hand, i still don't love the EX colours and tampo selection NA went with, but i'll admit it isn't as bad as the impressions i had strictly from photos/videos. prob that's mostly because NA just has the execution down on giving us such polished products. however, i still stand by my opinion that IDW and regular Cyclonus looks aesthetically better for me and fitting my collection.

the purples of EX Cyclonus and Shockwave look good paired together, and conversely the bluer hues of regular Cyclonus with EX Galvatron.

not sure what i'm going to do with EX Cyclonus, if i'll just keep it, or perhaps sell it on.

 

I'm not sure which version is which, but golly i love that middle one. i have it here, but haven't messed with it yet.

 

How much would you want for it if you did decide to sell it later on?

 

What hands are those on your Galvatron? I dont remember his hands having a wrist hinge before?

those are hands borrowed from NA OP, the only bot so far that they've ever included them. i really wish they made them standard on all their bots that are about the size of OP and bigger.

 

ok, i got the Samurai Cyclonus, and in bot mode, WOW, much nicer than expected from pics / videos. This can definitely be a center piece by itself, just like IF Samurai Grimlock, for those with limited budget or space.

I mean like Newage Toshiro and Iron Factory samurai Grimlock are on same level for Robot beauty / paint / looking awesome, and a really awesome pair / duo too together!!!

I am glad i got Toshiro as the only one from the mold (dont want to double dip with my very limited budget), but if i could have gotten a second, it would be either SG or Toon (not sure which looks better in person as they both seem to look awesome too)

The negatives for me are that the alt mode doesnt look so good in person (but transformation is great), and it is not as heavy as hoped for, meaning it could have used a little more die cast, and not just bottom of feet.

 

Finally got around to opening and transforming my EX Cyclonus. Wow, what a fun figure to transform. Newage makes me fall in love with Transformer toys all over again with each release.

I think I'm just about done with Hasbro at this point. I need to finish Menasor. I'll still finish out my Hasbro G1 characters like Ironhide, Ratchet, Hound, etc. as they get released. I would much rather put my toy budget towards more Newage releases. Really looking forward to EX Ultra Magnus next.
