Assuming the toy version will release later with "toy sticker" decals applied. Hopefully.
Oh damn it, I don’t know what to choose....
I am torn between Metallic and grey Shackwave version (which I actually had as a kid)... they both look great, but can only do 1, as I also want to do 1 of magic square too, but again, do I wait for maybe a repaint that I want, such as grey shackwave ms, and metallic new age, which would be ideal maybe for me, but uncertain. Don’t want to do 3, just one from each company... arg....so hard to choose, both metallic and grey look so good. And not gonna lie, but I even like the original colours more on new age version....
Buy all of them , they are pretty small so they won't take up too much space.
Thanks for the heads-up. That's the one for me!
Shackwave is here!
but EX galv also came with the extra balloon suit. i would make a guess that the price bump would be more likely be in line with the difference being similar to regular and toon galv repaint where there are no extra added accessories. so hopefully only maybe $5 increase VS $15.
EX pre-ordered, cue Magic Square announcing their own metallic version lol.
I can’t figure out which one is supposed to be which. Is Ex toy accurate and regular one toon accurate?
the G1 toy is darker than the G1 toon which is why I’m guessing that.
I wish they would ditch the light piping
New age has some pretty good stuff. Their Darius is top-tier in the legends scale.
That's kind of what I'm wondering as well. I think EX is normally what Newage calls the toy version. Good examples are EX Starscream and EX Soundwave which we can see are definitely the toy versions just by looking at them. But then ShowZ has the title as "Animation Version" on Starscream so it can be a little confusing, but at least the images make it clear what it is.
For Shockwave I don't think the original toy had any stickers on it other than the Decepticon logo. The only distinguishing characteristic in this case between regular and EX would be that the EX will have the darker metallic purple color which matches the original toy. But, again, ShowZ has "Animation Version" in the title for EX Shockwave.
I'm torn between toy and toon versions of these. I started out thinking of sticking with toon versions of everything. But, then that EX Soundwave was just too nice looking so I got both. And I also preferred the EX Jazz and EX Prowl over the toon versions for all the extra deco, so I decided to just get the EX of those two.
For Shockwave I really don't know which one I like best. I'm leaning towards EX as I dig the darker metallic color, but I also like the grey Galactic Man version. In fact I got both of the Hasbro releases, but mostly because I was able to get them on sale, so it was easier on my budget. Unfortunately, I already pre-ordered the toon version, so now I'll have to rethink everything. Next time I need to just wait it out and see which version I like best.
The EX also has black around the eye, while the regular version doesn't. Unless it will be on the final version and was mistakenly left off the promo version.
Looks great! hopefully price will be more in line with the older toys. Can't say I'm a fan of the trend to price these closer to MP toys lately like SoundWave and Galvatron.
Ah, yes. That's right. I think the black looks better. Another reason to go with EX. It would be prudent for Newage to add the black around the eye for their toon version as well since he's like that in the cartoon.
The regular one is accurate to the character model. Just like the regular MP was.
The purple of the EX is more accurate to the toon.
Put a pre order down on the EX version.
I'm buying newage but I do wish that they had a non-translucent version of shock waves blaster arm
Impressive, most impressive.
If I collected legends scale I would be all over this Shockwave. The floating gun on a stand is awesome, I'm tempted to get him even though I don't collect legends scale.
Be warned it's a deep dark rabbit hole. Lol
What do you mean character model? I believe that means toon. I think the darker one is more the color of the toy than the toon. EX Starscream, EX Soundwave are both toy accurate as well.
Separate names with a comma.
