I think the way NA choose to use faux chest for their OP makes it being difficult. Now they still need the faux chest showing on Magnus chest for the matrix. Then the arms and upper body of white OP need to be repositioned in combined form

 

Those fists are unsightly and quite an eyesore from the top...I am really looking forward to this release but I hope that looks better in hand.

 

I don't think the fists are gonna fold up. Based on the forearm placement, they're liable to end up in the cab interior.
Plus, why leave enough space for the fists if it's just gonna leave a void when he's properly transformed?

 

Overall, NA UM is still the best G1 Armor UM that I have seen in term of using all of its part to make it works. This release will certain be in my UM collection unless NA screws me up by releasing another version without the glass chest. Then, I'll be pissed off *looking straight at MF UM 2.0 vs Delta Magnus* With that being said, I think the MS Armor UM looks a little bit better in both robot and alt.mode. Of course, MS cheats the design by not using all of the trailer parts so they created a giant BFG out of it. Back to NA Armor UM, it's too bad they couldn't find another way like having another panel that folds out from the armor red chest to cover the white Magnus arm. In addition to this, I'm also bother by the white crotch below his white belt. Not sure why they didn't make that part blue.

I've already got MFT Magnus as my full time Magnus on my legends shelf, and I got the MST White Light of Justice with the Magnus armor that I'm going to use for a battle damaged mod. Thought I was done with Magnus but that actually looks really damn cool. Might have to pick this up even though I usually try to skip NA.

 

I like the matrix chamber, looks cool and the shade of red and blue looks good as well. But why are the insides of his legs white and red? Is there a g1 version I don't know of which has that colorway?
Also, just like NA Prime, got the big diaper going on and his upper body has a roundness to it, which seems odd to me.

 

No, the colour scheme of his inside-leg has had to be compromised for transformation reasons (you’re seeing the inside leg of the inner robot there).

As far as I’m aware, the only previous art/image showing that Ultra Magnus shares the inside-leg colour with his inner robot is the original G1 box art. I believe the recent Siege toy has the same white inner leg?

 

I’m gonna wait for some good pics if this guy before I start making judgements. The arms being folded in the top is kind of worrying… but enough with the teasers, show us the goods in all their glory!

 

Roundness and diapers are just pure G1 love and accuracy.

Although I already commented in the NA Prime thread, I'll repeat to the UM thread as well.
Biggest selling for me beside being an Armor UM, I love how slim the Armor UM profile is. Proportion looks good as well just like toon S3 UM. This is not common for Armor UM compared to the 1986 UM, Siege/Kingdom UM which tend to be very bulky. Even MP22 was very bulky and that's w/out the white Magnus robot cab. Second, I thought NA UM looks great overall. Can't wait to own him along w/ MS UM v2. I'll include the pic from the NA Prime thread to show NA UM die cast metal.


For the con, I'll just copy my comment from the NA Prime thread:
"My only nitpicky so far is the waist design/coloring. First, the center blue above the white belt and white crotch needs to switch place, see photo below. Second, the side of the waist is too flat, it's missing that side pouch/pocket-like *forgot the terminology, cow something?*.

 

Both mags and prime look miles better than ms.

Edit: size wise FT fort max and looks wise as well ofcourse together with these legends would go so well together.

 

Magnus and OP looks excellent. I wish NA would be able to release these guys before the year ends.(More so on UM because i like him more than Prime but whichever comes first i will still buy )
