So I was looking at Ratchet’s promo pics today.




Is it me or is that a different Cliffjumper?

 

Definitely darker and more metallic. Could be an ex. CJ head doesn’t change.

 

Its always hard to tell the color and sheen of Newage figures because they alter their promo pictures so much. I'm not convinced that Cliffjumper is new because if you look at the darker grey and red on Ratchet, those colors look darker and more metallic than they are inhand as well.

 

You could be right.

 

It is just a levels adjustment in photoshop.

Just ordered the reissue of cliff and bee from showz. I kept looking at them and finally said screw it

 

Still waiting on EX versions of this set. Wish there was more consistency in general.
They were announcing EX versions almost concurrently for a while and now theve gotten all coy with the last few releases.

 

FYI: the gold version of these guys is on sale at BBTS for $42.50, which, even after taxes and shipping I believe is still cheaper than they were from ShowZ and the like.

Got them on sale at bbts and it might've been a mistake. I am now in love with the look of gold symbols on gold bots and I want more. Really wasn't planning a golden lagoon collection.

 

I think the gold ones are my favourite, I might just go gold.

There’s not as many as you’d think, the last ones they put out were Beachcomber and Jazz, maybe there’s like 10 gold figures at most.

Unclebilly. They've got gold and silver waterslides. They're like a foil so they're reflective. I used silver symbols on Optimus because I thought it'd look cool and I wasn't specifically trying to reference the episode but now I kinda' wish I'd gone gold on him too.

 

Same. Though if they do it, I really, really want the visored-and-mouthplated head sculpt for Bee, and both faces should be silver. I had given up on an EX deco and might have gotten this set but I don’t like the grey limbs and blue windows. Hopefully the EX versions will be black in both cases. I tentatively went with the Hubcap and Bugbite set for that reason alone.
